About Our Educators

Q. Why did you become an Educator?

I started as an aide in preschools over a decade ago because I was passionate about researching child development for my own practices as a parent. I discovered I had a natural ability to connect with children and quickly moved into leading my own preschool class. Fast forward 10 years, and I have my Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education and continue to be inspired by child development and providing the highest quality care for all families in an inclusive, nature-based, early learning program.

Q. What's your favorite part about being an Educator?

I love the joy that comes along with teaching kids as they accomplish and master skills after minutes, hours or even days of practicing; The childrens' expressions of wonder and amazement are so insightful into each little person's individual intellect, it is just fascinating!

Q. Do you have any special experience parents should know about?

I have an Associate's in Early Childhood Education and am continuing my studies towards a BS in ECE with an emphasis in special education in the early years by September 2020. I'm also a mom of 3 rowdy boys ages 20 months, 4 and 10 years.

Q. Anything else parents should know about you or your family?

We are an avid outdoors family; hunting, wildlife watching, hiking and camping in all kinds of weather is our passion. We believe in building a community of like-minded families and friends to help raise our children.

About Our School

Q. What's your early childhood education philosophy?

My program curriculum has a focus on play-based individualized teaching approach that follows closely along with the Reggio Emilia philosophy. I closely observe each individual child to discover their learning path and developmental needs, then I provide materials and tools with which to further develop their skills through play-based activities. My personal belief is that children are born as scientists with an innate love and fascination with nature. I foster curiosity by having nature brought into the program through animals we've rescued; a rabbit, two bearded dragons (a type of lizard); and also animals that we have raised such as quail, chicken, dogs, & cats.

Q. What's your school set-up like?

I have a preschool space designed with various learning stations for my preschool-aged children and an infant/toddler space for the littler kiddos. We use the outdoors a lot and make sure that the kids get fresh air on a daily basis - rain or shine!

Q. What snacks & meals do you provide?

I serve an organic family-style meal program that includes breakfast, AM snack, lunch, and a PM snack.

Q. Anything else parents should know?

I have 2 part-time preschool openings.
I treat each child as a unique individual who has their own needs and developmental path. I look at it as a puzzle in which I am here to help them put the pieces together and design their learning future!

About Our Parent Relationships

Q. How do you communicate with parents?

I communicate every day in person with parents in my program at drop off and pick up. I also utilize the Brightwheel platform for daily updates, monthly newsletters and anything else pertinent to the program or your children.

Q. What do you expect from me as a parent?

I believe families, guardians, and parents are the experts on their child/ren. I strive to build a relationship with the families in which I complement their expertise and we work together as a team to provide the best learning experiences we can for their children while in my program. I value open communication, constructive feedback, and parent participation as your schedule allows.

Q. Do you encourage visits from parents?

Yes absolutely! Once your child is part of my program, I encourage families to come on field trips and/or fulfill breastfeeding needs if you have an infant. I have an open door policy for parents who want to participate in and support the program.
