Treasure West Preschool

About Our Educators

  • Q. Why did you become an Educator?

I love children and am thrilled to have the opportunity to witness the growth and learning that happens during early childhood. My daughter is almost three and I decided that by opening Treasure West Preschool I could help shape more little minds while continuing to watch my own daughter grow.
  • Q. What's your favorite part about being an Educator?

Watching children grow, learn, investigate and connect all of life’s little puzzle pieces is such an amazing feat to watch little minds conquer.
  • Q. Do you have any special experience parents should know about?

I have a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education with experience working in home-based programs in Bozeman. I have also spent 5 years working with adults with disabilities and I am a veteran.
  • Q. Anything else parents should know about you or your family?

I have a very supportive husband who is also a veteran. We are a family with open minds and hearts and enjoy diversity.

About Our School

  • Q. What's your early childhood education philosophy?

It is important to have a safe, comforting and individualized environment to learn every day. Children will learn from investigation, free play, directed play and how the things they are learning connects to the real world. There should always be a purpose to the learning because we are creating the foundation of knowledge to build upon. This also includes social and emotional learning including self-regulation.
  • Q. What's your school set-up like?

I use my entire home for Treasure West. My front room and dining room is where we have family-style meals together and nap time. The littlest ones will have a separate nap space and my garage is converted into the main school. We have strategically located centers which include: blocks, art, library, dramatic play with a kitchen, dress-up play, and a manipulatives area. We also have a comfortable safe space for any child needing a break to gather themselves or have a quiet moment.
  • Q. What snacks & meals do you provide?

We provide breakfast, lunch and a snack all served family-style and homemade. Treasure West serves a variety of healthy foods and participants in the Child and Adult Care Food Program.
  • Q. Anything else parents should know?

There is always something to learn! I am still and always will be learning. Please feel comfortable providing feedback and ideas. These are your children and you are the greatest source of knowledge about your child/children. We at Treasure West take great pride in our work and do our absolute best every day. It is very important to me to work as a team to raise the next generation that will be apart of our community.

About Our Parent Relationships

  • Q. What do you expect from me as a parent?

I expect families to make time for meetings when there are important things that need to be discussed about your child/children's progress. We will use Brightwheel for day-to-day electronic communication and so you can stay connected to your little one throughout the day. Additionally, it is my hope that you feel comfortable asking any questions you may have.
  • Q. Do you encourage visits from parents?

Absolutely! If families have the opportunity to spend time with your child in the program you should take it! We also offer events and opportunities throughout the year for families to visit the program and allow for families to meet and network with each other. I would also like to offer opportunities for volunteers to come in and be an expert on areas of interest or project work that we are working on in the classroom so please offer your expertise!
