What Our Families Are Saying

Mandy put our minds at ease

We were skeptical about hiring a caregiver for our infant, especially since he was our first child. Mandy put our minds at ease and made the transition effortless! She made us feel comfortable and she instantly bonded with our son. She is very loving and nurturing and really cares for the children she works with – we highly recommend hiring Mandy as your child’s caregiver!

About Our Educators

Q. Why did you become an Educator?

I always knew I wanted to pursue a career in child development because my Mom was an in-home childcare provider. My experience working as a full-time nanny and in a school environment helped me realize that being an educator is my true passion. I believe that early childhood programs are an essential factor in a child's development with key components such as socialization, education, confidence building, and self-esteem.

Q. What's your favorite part about being an Educator?

My favorite part about being an educator is watching children learn, grow, and become their own little person. One of the joys of working with infants and toddlers is helping them meet their developmental milestones.

Q. Do you have any special experience parents should know about?

I have a wide variety of experience working with children of different ages and backgrounds, including nannying and working in a preschool. I have also worked as a children's social worker, which was challenging but made a difference with a very vulnerable population. All of these experiences have allowed me to fine-tune my caregiving style and have made me realize how much I love working with babies and toddlers.

Q. Anything else parents should know about you or your family?

A very important part of my family is my "fur-babies." I have two very adorable and friendly dogs, two shy indoor cats, and five outdoor chickens.

About Our School

Q. What's your early childhood education philosophy?

My most important philosophy is to provide your child with a safe, comfortable and nurturing environment. I follow pieces from Montessori and Reggio Emilia curricula in my program.

Q. What's your school set-up like?

My home is comfortable and cozy. There are plenty of educational and sensory toys for your children, but I try to keep the clutter to a minimum to create a peaceful and predictable environment for your child.

Q. What snacks & meals do you provide?

If an infant is breastfed, parents are encouraged to drop by to feed their baby or provide breastmilk. I provide formula, but parents are welcome to bring their own if preferred. I also provide breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack for children who are eating solid foods.

Q. Anything else parents should know?

Part-time available - rates vary depending on the number of days per week.

About Our Parent Relationships

Q. How do you communicate with parents?

I believe communication is key to any successful relationship and my goal is to keep discussion very open between myself and parents. I will communicate with parents through the app, Brightwheel, to inform parents of their child's day & to share pictures from each day. Parents can sign up for an optional "parent/teacher conference chat" a few times a year to discuss their child's progress. I also encourage daily quick check-ins with my parents at drop-off or pick-up so I can give them highlights of the day!

Q. What do you expect from me as a parent?

I value open communication and constructive feedback. I encourage parent participation when parents are available to do so.

Q. Do you encourage visits from parents?

Yes absolutely! I have an open door policy and if you have an infant, feel free to schedule times to feed your child (if able). Special visits such as a reading time or baby yoga are encouraged!
