About Our Educators

  • Q. Why did you become an Educator?

I am passionate about helping raise the next generation of children. I believe that a solid foundation for our youth can make all the difference in who they become as adults. I also love children; I am never happier than when I am with kids!
  • Q. What's your favorite part about being an Educator?

My favorite part about being an educator is when a child finally truly understands a new concept through work in the classroom. They get a spark in their eye and the biggest smile, and often I will find them doing that same work quite a while later.
  • Q. Do you have any special experience parents should know about?

I received my Montessori training in the AMA style for 3-6-year-olds from the Rocky Mountain Education Center of the Rockies and have been a lead teacher in a Montessori classroom. I have 10 years of full-time child care experience including nannying, daycare, preschool, and home-based. I am currently working towards my Early Childhood Education degree.
  • Q. Anything else parents should know about you or your family?

My family is a little family of three humans and two cats. My son is a goofy and kind little toddler who is just exploring the world around him and learning all he can every day. My husband is a kind and nurturing man. He mainly works nights so he is here during the days, however, keeps to himself usually during classroom hours, but will sometimes help out with things like making lunch or getting everyone ready to go out in the cold. We have two cats that will not be part of the program, but something to keep in mind if your child has allergies.

About Our School

  • Q. What's your early childhood education philosophy?

My program follows the Montessori philosophy.
  • Q. What's your school set-up like?

The main level of my home is mainly dedicated to the preschool. You will find a large open classroom space connected to a lovely dining room area as well as a child-sized functioning kitchen inside the actual kitchen.
  • Q. What snacks & meals do you provide?

All snacks and meals will be healthy and balanced, organic and all-natural. Snacks will be prepared by children when age-appropriate and eaten on their time during work cycles. Breakfast will be served for children to choose what they want out of three choices. Lunch will be served family-style in big dishes for children to choose from. I am happy to accommodate any kind of dietary restrictions in my home, please feel free to discuss what that would look like for your little one. If a child is in my program during extended afternoon hours, they will be fed dinner.
  • Q. Anything else parents should know?

Being a Montessori program, the daily schedule is a bit different than that of a normal daycare. There are two 3-hour work cycles, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, where children are hard “at work” in the classroom learning. They will spend plenty of time outdoors as well. I am cloth-diaper friendly and am well versed in them. I am happy to do Elimination Communication or other methods of early potty training. I have extended hours available. I accept non-vaccinated and delay-vaccinated children with proper exemption notice.

About Our Parent Relationships

  • Q. What do you expect from me as a parent?

Open daily communication of pertinent information such as lack of sleep or teething will help me understand your child/children's mood for the day. Additionally, please keep me in the loop about your child/children's interests and disinterests as they grow and develop. I want to have works on the shelves that pique the kids' interests.
  • Q. Do you encourage visits from parents?

Absolutely. I encourage parents to be present whenever they want or whenever it is possible. Please discuss this with me in advance so we can plan on a time that fits into our classroom routine.
