Little Days Early Learning

About Our Educators

  • Q. Why did you become an Educator?

Early Childhood Education has always been a part of my life. My Grandmother was a preschool teacher for 30 years and I started helping her care for neighborhood children when I was 14. Since then, I’ve taught in many schools and classrooms totalling 12 years of experience. Teaching children is second nature to me and I cannot see myself doing anything else. After having two children of my own, I’m excited to make my dream of owning my own school a reality and share my joy of teaching with the community.
  • Q. What's your favorite part about being an Educator?

My favorite part of teaching is watching the children practice what I teach them. Nothing brings me greater happiness than seeing a child hold their own spoon, draw a circle for the first time or point out a letter. Knowing that I am educating the future makes my world go round!
  • Q. Do you have any special experience parents should know about?

I have worked with children that have a variety of special needs. These experiences creating individualized lesson plans and schedules to improve learning have made me a more caring and attentive Educator. Additionally, I have taken various specialized trainings and classes on social emotional behaviors in children. I consider this my strong suit and LOVE teaching children how to recognize and control their emotions and problem solve.
  • Q. Anything else parents should know about you or your family?

Little Days Early Learning is faith-based childcare program. I teach weekly Bible lessons and we say a prayer before meal times. Additionally, I have been married to my amazing husband for five years and we have two children, ages two and 11-months. We also have three fur-babies that complete our family! We love to be outdoors and enjoy the little things in life.

About Our School

  • Q. What's your early childhood education philosophy?

I believe children learn through play and cognitive based practices. My program strikes a balance between individual exploration and structured activities.
  • Q. What's your school set-up like?

There are various centers designed for children of all ages to explore on their own, with a friend or with a teacher. The whole backyard is an adventure waiting to be explored, including our very own greenhouse and garden.
  • Q. What snacks & meals do you provide?

Breakfast, lunch and a snack in the afternoon.
  • Q. Anything else parents should know?

I believe in giving children choices and encouraging problem solving as my way of guidance and redirection. The key to correcting behavior is to recognize their feelings, let them feel the feelings and then teach them how to solve the problem when they are calm and collected.

About Our Parent Relationships

  • Q. What do you expect from me as a parent?

I expect honesty and respect from my families. I am on your side when it comes to your children. If you have any concerns or hesitations, I am always happy to talk through them with you. As a parent myself, I know both sides of this door and want to make sure we are all being honest and respectful.
  • Q. Do you encourage visits from parents?

I highly encourage parent/ guardian involvement! Knowing what we are learning here at preschool and being involved makes your child learn faster and captures their full potential. Asking parents/guardians to bring in items for our big projects or sending a list of insects to try and find at home are all ways I like to get the family involved. We love Grandmas and Grandpas too!
