About Our Educators

Q. Why did you become an Educator?

My passion for children started with my own, then extended to working with Scouts, and eventually lead to an opportunity to pursue my love for Early Childhood by opening my own program.

Q. What's your favorite part about being an Educator?

Each day I have the privilege of knowing I'm helping the kids I work with to grow a little bit on the inside.

Q. Do you have any special experience parents should know about?

I am a Montana Certified Infant/Toddler Caregiver and Preschool Teacher, and I have an AAS in Early Childhood Education.

Q. Anything else parents should know about you or your family?

I believe that opening my home to families and sharing my family with them is a special partnership that creates a close, long-term relationship.

About Our School

Q. What's your early childhood education philosophy?

I'm dedicated to providing a safe, caring, and stimulating environment that meets the individual needs of children and their families ages newborn to PreK. We believe that children’s innate curiosity and wonder about their world is the natural doorway to a child’s intellectual development. We enhance that with experiences specifically designed to encourage social-emotional, creative, physical, and cognitive growth with a whole-child approach. We provide a safe, supportive and nurturing atmosphere where all children and staff are encouraged to express their creativity freely. Our goal is to have every child be Kindergarten ready by being socially-emotionally competent to function proficiently in a classroom setting.

Q. What's your school set-up like?

We are a home-based group with a dedicated space for providing exceptional one-on-one care for children in the program.

Q. What snacks & meals do you provide?

We provide breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack for each child. We can also accommodate most special diets with the assistance of the child’s family.

Q. Anything else parents should know?

We believe that the care of your child is the single most important consideration when you work outside the home and you should feel at ease and confident about the place where your child spends their day. We strive to meet the physical, cognitive, social and emotional growth of each child in a caring and supportive atmosphere. We support and encourage all child to learn skills that help them function independently, attain lasting friendships, form trusting relationships, have social skills, and self-regulation. We believe that these skills, above all others, are what children need to enter school and throughout their lifetime.

About Our Parent Relationships

Q. How do you communicate with parents?

We make it a point to have a face-to-face intersection with the family twice, every day. We use an app parents can install in their smartphone to see activities, development, learning, and notifications. We also post community involvement activities and special dates on our Facebook page.

Q. What do you expect from me as a parent?

Open and honest communication.

Q. Do you encourage visits from parents?

Jitterbug Childcare has an open door policy and welcomes you to participate in the program as you are able. Several times a year we have projects and programs that we ask volunteers to join. It is also important to us that you and your ideas are part of your child’s learning and we will post curriculum plans for you to contribute to.
