10 - 12 - weeks is the average time from start to becoming licensed. MyVillage is here every step of the way to give you the support and training to successfully open an in-home program. This obviously changes depending on the local city, state or municipality.
- You live in a home that meets licensing criteria (don’t worry - we’ll walk you through this!) - most commonly though - you’ll need to have a fenced in yard area & enough indoor space to have 6 children in care during your program hours.
- You have a passion for kids!
- You have a love of learning and desire to teach others
- You, along with anyone over 18 in your house, can pass a background check
Start-up costs vary depending on program size, home set up assessment and other variable factors. Discuss your vision for your home-based program with our educator enrollment team, and they'll give you a range of start-up costs to achieve your goals.
- This depends on how many kids in care you have and the hours that your program is open. On average - MyVillage Educators can make up to $66,000 a year*.
- On average our programs cost families $900 - $1000 a month per child enrolled - this is different for each city we’re in as rates are market based and set by the educators.

Licensing costs vary by each county and state that you live in. The MyVillage licensing specialist will walk you through the estimated costs by region that you live in and also connect you with resources and support every step of the way through your licensing journey.
Yes! In fact - we encourage all of our educators to take at least 2 weeks of paid vacation per year - outlined in the MyVillage Family handbook. Our MyVillage values include “Be the Rock” as it’s based in our belief that we can only care for others if we take care of ourselves.
The MyVillage Learning Approach combines high quality family partnerships, learning environments, and instruction to raise curious, confident kids as a community. To deliver the MyVillage Learning Approach, educators receive digital training, instructional materials, and community learning workshops delivered by an early childhood education specialist.
