Coronavirus Cleaning and Health Protocols for MyVillage Programs

Enrolling (or considering enrolling) in a MyVillage program? Based on CDC and local health department guidelines to reduce exposure to Coronavirus, below are recommended health and safety protocols in MyVillage programs to keep our children safe and healthy.

  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and water or alcohol-based sanitizer, and help children to do the same
  • Use hand lotion to avoid cracked and dry skin, as cracked and bleeding hands are more susceptible to infections
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
  • Cover your cough or sneeze into a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash
  • Regularly clean and sanitize shared surfaces such as counters, tables, placemats, chairs, and toys
  • Increase deep cleaning to at least 2 times per week and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces like doorknobs, tables, drinking fountains, and handrails. For instructions regarding disinfecting see here (for an additional list of recommended products, you can find those here.)
  • Encourage parents to keep children who are sick at home, and check each child upon arrival to your program for signs of illness
  • Implement temperature checks twice daily
  • Families drop-off and pick-up children at the door
  • For arrival: Educator receives the child, good-byes are exchanged, and educator manages coat and shoes/boots off, and straight to wash hands, followed by temperature check
  • For exit: Ask the parent to wait at the door, while the educator helps with shoes/boots and jackets, then the educator can bring the child straight to the parents
