When it comes to the suave masses of dapper suits and soiree attire, 108 Marylebone Lane is a rare find. Matchless in menu and solo in drink/cocktail lists, this venue serves up a grand evening.
108 Marylebone Lane with its spacious settings, three tiers, a sociable bar, a practical dining area and accommodating staff makes an ideal mainstay. With their wine list toppling in variety, notably their Argentinean Finca Flichman Chenin Blanc and Chateau Lamothe-Cissac Bordeaux taking prize position, their cocktails too, are supple and refine.

In no time we ordered their Scottish Smoked Salmon and Chicken Liver Parfait for starters. The parfait was perfectly smooth sans a heavy, jelly-like texture; the salmon too, made a marvel appetiser. Gearing onto our mains, a sizeable lobster sprinkled with fried breadcrumbs, parsley toppings served with chunky chips soon arrived. Fleshy and distinct in taste, the Lobster was plumped with substance and flavour. The pork belly proved to be a winner too, served on a bed of crushed celeriac, the dish was carefully prepared and explosive on the taste buds – with every morsel melting on the palate.
Not wanting to give up on the array of delicacies on offer, we opted for the Valrhona Chocolate Mousse and the Madeleine. The dark chocolate mousse was a divine melange of thick milky chocolate doused with syrup. The consistency of the mousse was soft and velvety accompanied by raspberry coulis and honeycomb crunches. The Madeleine’s served warm had the most delicate flavour, covered in almond flakes and honey.
After much gulping, guzzling and gobbling – we finally rested with a glass of Muscat, whilst discreetly loosening our belts …
