This neat little members bar, brought to us by Youcef Aden, the former Dynasty costume designer and proprietor of club Hedges and Butler, is a novel idea for the money hungry West End. Membership is given to those who write a good enough story, all the submissions are vetted by Youcef himself and only the witty, creative folk who impress are lucky enough to receive membership!
Inside Victory is modeled around a street film set. There are houses that you walk into and one interior may be a kitchen another a bathroom and so on. The 'outdoors' is very much a Parisian style cafe seating with a little make your own Mojito stall where guests can play around making there own Cuban style Mojito. These little touches add to the 'street' feel and the general laid back atmosphere.
In another part of the building there is a huge library where members can unwind and talk about poetry and all sorts of literary things. If they haven't had too many Mojitos! I had a nice evening here and i think it has the opportunity to breath some fresh air into a part of the capital that seems to put a lot of focus on style and looks and very little interest in creativity. I will have to eat my words if we see some WAGS falling around the place at any point but somehow i doubt it.
