The Club is very good and one of the better venues in London. If you visit clubs such as Mahiki, China Whites, Funky Buddha regularly you will appreciate it and know what to expect. However, if your usual night out is at tiger tiger dont bother going, it will be too expensive and you will not enjoy yourself. If you do go be prepared to spend a few hundred ???s and if you are tight/ugly it is not the place for you...Touche...
Reading everyones comments I'm very confused and I'm now wondering how drunk I was because when I went to paper I had an amazing time! I wasn't on the guest list but found it very easy to get in, the door people were very friendly and welcomed us in! I'm defo going again!
any club where people have to use flares to show-off the fact they are stupid enough to spend 1000% mark up on crap wine should be avoided..... oh and the music sucks. not too far away form most other mayfair clubs - full of airheads pretending to have a good time?!
Girls, be warned - if you dont like being treated like a whore then dont go to this club. Myself and 3 pretty friends went, were 'picked' from the dance floor which was crammed and full of ugly men and underdressed tourists to go and drink champers with some guys at a table on the raised 'we-have-more-money-than-sense' section. After a while of trying to be polite and engage in coversation, and a couple of glasses later, the promoter who worked there pushed one of my mates back into the lower dance pit bit, then proceeded to tell the other two of us to f'off, as the guy who was splashing cash only wanted to keep one. If that is not illegal I dont know what is. Coupled with the terrible music and lap dancers - this club is only suitable for rich guys who cant pull anywhere else and happen to have a few grand floating around. Get the impression I didnt like it there!
Paper should be renamed PRETENTIOUS. I have never been to such an over rated place in all my life. Staff are rude, ill mannered and generally not aware i think that they were working in a night club and the whole aim of a good time was not a priority, rather it was no you can't sit here, no you can't put your bag down, no you can't take your shoes off, no no no no no !!!!! to everything...The dance floor was barely free of space to move as there was no where to sit except if you were stamped with VIP...then bar staff pushed their way through the dance floor with champagne bottles and flare guns to tell the world look at me i am spending ???500 on a bottle of champayne, for vips sitting around the dance floor.... It was like something from a freek show, people were stuck up, miserable and clearly the place does not get the best out of people!
It was ok, got into the VIP area without a problem, if you know what to say to can get in to any vip room!If anything was expenvie it was the shots! Was drinking Verve all night at 80 pounds a bottle, I think that was well priced.
Going to Paper club was better than what we heard it should be.A young crowd with a lot of energy, great music and actualy lower prices than other of the clubs i have been to in London. 500pound spend minimum for a table in vip is in the medium range and worth the money. Incredibly good service, starting already at the door where we were escorted directly downstairs to a table. Not the place i would recommend if you are not a spender, but if you are a night life loving person its worth a try...
When will these types of bars/clubs start to realise that the people (normally called guests) coming through their doors, are there to be made welcome. I was unlucky enough to be put onto the door list of this overated, pretentious, expensive and tacky establishment last night and will never go back. Sure, there are beautiful people everywhere and a few shiny light fittings to match, but nobody is comfortable enough to have a great time. The over abundance of security makes you feel like you are in the CIA head office. The drinks are over priced. And the decor looks like it was designed by a graduate interior designer. Do yourself a favour and go somewhere else. And Paper.... relax a bit, smile, make people feel welcome, you are after all in Hospitality!
This is the worst nightclub in London.Yes, the reviewer below is right in saying the management seem racist as I saw an Asian fella thrown out for accidentally spilling a drink over a woman.I hate Paper and so will you...
I went to Paper last night on the 07th June 2007. I had a really great time. I was on the guestist of my friend's who promotes there, and when we arrived we were told it wasn't free, but ???15. I then disputed this and got let in for free. The drinks weren't as much as I thought they would be which was a plus, and I only spent ???4.50 as I got invited onto a table which means free vodka all night! Oh and Nas was there partying and I was partying in his VIP section. Good music and a great crowd, met some really lovely people who were really decent...
