It was a perfect dinner with excellent food and great presentation. If you want the best pasat you have had in a while, you can go there.
I been in this restaurant few times, actually I am a regular customer. I am reading all this comment, and I can say for my experience, nothing it is true. I will explain why, all staff it is very friendly, fast and competent, whatever you need in few second is in your table. They charging cover charge, (1.75 P.P) but they are very aware about what is in your table, never missing your basket with fresh bread, butter and wonderful olives (just them knows how to made), fresh and succulent cheese, and all the hospitality we need. So if you deciding for a perfect dinner do not hesitate to visit L'Ulivo - typical and real Italian Restaurant...
The restaurant was quiet well presented by its look, but maybe thay should take away all the cheeky stuff to pretend to be Italian, as they are not. Once entered the restaurant a waitress welcomed us and gave us a table in a very reasonable time, but unfortunately the staff performances dropped terrifically from that moment on: the waitress took her time to show up again, and before the drinks were served 25 minutes were already gone. From the time of the food order to the service, another we had to wait another 45 minutes. The food was unsalted, slightely burnt, tasteless and watery (i can't explain this because it was a recipe with cream...). The person who looked like the GM was also very rude with the staff, and treating them like slaves. An unaccettable amount of service charge was added to the bill, plus a service charge per head of 1.75 came from nowhere and excused as a "Westminster City Council Tax"...A suggestion: don't step even close this restaurant.
If you really want to go to this place, make sure you do not pay cash: the change they gave me was ten pounds short and there was nothing I could do about it. It would seem they decided to tip themselves ten pounds over a forty pound bill. When we left, the waiter and staff at the till turned the other way to avoid eye contact. They ruined my day, do not let them ruin your's as well.
This definitely the most high experience I had. I celebrated my 30th birthday with my other 15 friends it was fabulous. They laid our table nicely with balloons and they arranged for my cake. We spent three hours there with good wine very good fish I have to say and what can I say about the desert, just mouth watering. The restaurant it self is really cosy and nice very friendly staff I will make it my favourite restaurant in Leicester Square.
