this is a fab place to eat and drink always has a good atmospher halloween is a must
Went to ben crouch couple days after my 18th. Was an amazing night out with my girlfriend, best mate and her boyfriend. It was nice to go somewhere for once and NOT get dirty looks off everyone and NOT have 'dyke' and 'dirty lesbian' shouted at me. All in all a great night with awesome people & music =]
It's little suprise that Ben Crouch's Tavern is always full to the brim. Whilst the speakers churn out a foot-tapping blend of pop-rock, the food is delicious and the drinks are sublime. The Seven Sins cocktails are so tasty that you end up trying them all, but at 3.25 each it's definitely worth the money. And whilst glugging the heavenly concoctions, sit back, relax and take in the fantastic décor featuring gargoyles and hospital paraphenalia as the pub pays homeage to a notorious body snatcher who's father - the pub's namesake - was a hospital caretaker.
One of the trilogy of pubs on the Soho rock / metal trail - the others being The Intrepid Fox and Garlic and Shots. As such you will find long haired men, vampy women, themed nights and Nosferatu and other German Expressionism films on silent repeat on the screens behind the bar. Fake cobwebs, assorted dusty medicine bottles - this pub takes its theme and runs with it and theres nowt wrong with a bit of Gothika (apart from that crap Halle Berry film). Serves up a great lunch time menu of the spud and chilli and burger and chips variety and beware of the Crouchy double the shots here are more than the average! Ohand the toilets scream at you, great fun for the uninitiated. Bwhahahaha.
