A popular bar and restaurant, it’s known for its live music and comedy and is usually packed out when there’s a gig. Its popularity is undiminished over the years and it’s a great place to check out the local live music scene.

It’s a well named, tiny relaxed café on the edge of Chorlton. It’s a lovely place to load up on Belgian waffles, chocolates and other dangerously addictive confectionary. If you’re feeling really decadent you could always wash the whole thing down with one of the wide range of Belgian Beers on offer.

It’s recommended as an excellent place to check out Manchester’s vibrant underground Arty scene. The upstairs still reminds me of a scene from Shameless, but the cheap beer has become a lot more appealing since I’ve been on the dole!

Downstairs, everything changes. A rambling cavernous space plays host to the latest playwright, poet, or writer exhibiting their latest work. As Chorlton seems to host some kind of Arty event every other week, the place is fairly crammed with Culture Vultures checking out the underground arts scene.
