The smallest bar in the world, probably. Its lack of size is the pub's unique selling point. Intimate, homely and ecletic are the buzz words here. They serve a nice pint too.
Oporto is one of the oldest, “cool bars” in Leeds and still packs in a diverse crowd of party people and cooler heads . The music policy is a bit dancey for me but to be fair there is also a great mix of indie tunes and the odd rock track too.
A truly great bar with a staggering selection of beers and decent bar food. It gets really busy and very noisy at the weekend so be warned, as the bar is not the widest place in Yorkshire. The atmosphere here though is fantastic, North bar has always had a unique buzz of its own. For beer its the best place in town and for atmosphere also.
The site of the legendary Town & Country Club, the O2 has a fantastic array of bands and half decent prices. One of my favourite artists Seasick Steve plays here before the end of the month.
A perfect pub for playing board games, having a few beers and lunch. The Sunday roast comes in at around a fiver and is good value, filling, swimming in gravy and tasty.
The Hyde Park Picture House is a gorgeous little kirsch cinema, one of the country’s few remaining old fashioned picture palaces. Showing a mixture of new films and arthouse movies, each showing comes with an interval where you can get ice cream, sweets and drinks. The perfect place to see great movies. Support this gem!
An rather informal and small restaurant, with excellent antipasto and standard Italian menu choices. A perfect place to dine alfresco when the sun is out whilst swigging a glass of preseco.
Tucked away the Butterfly Lounge aims to bring a slice of Studio 54 glamness to Yorkshire, it’s a small private member's club with VIP tables and table service in an intimate setting. The woman here are stunning, the men have deep pockets, everyone here works in the creative industries and holidays around the Med and Thailand.
The Lounge claims to be the "most exclusive nightclub in Leeds", it is a grand boast to make but if like me your on a budget you will probably sneer at the suggestion. If however you like your cocktails, don’t mind spending well over a tenner for 2 drinks, and can afford paying a few hundred quid for membership you will probably agree.

Amazing food, in beauiful surroundings. For me Yorkshire stopped at the door when I entered and sat down. White walls and gleaming floors and perfect service was a perfect way to spend less than £15 per head for a 3 course meal with 2 bottles of wine. My Risotto was perfect and though I'm not a wine drinker the Panul Merlot, seemed a perfect accompaniment to our meal.
The lunchtime early bird deal, offers a starter and a main for just £6.95 when you eat between 12 and 7. Tampopo is a excellent place to eat well without it costing the earth even if like me, money is too tight too mention.
