Two of us went on 28th October for 70th birthday celebration lunch. Staff placed us next to a table of young children seemingly also celebrating. A bit noisy, but we stayed on, until another party of children were placed near us. the noise was too much, we could hardly hear ourselves when we spoke to each other, so we asked to be moved---no chance said the staff, we are only using half of the restaurant today ! So we left, and will not go again.

We were there last night Aug.30, 2008 to celebrate a colleague's leaving do and birthday of another, maybe 14 people in all and another group of friends coming after work. The place is good but the staff were just unfriendly especially the waiter who was rude and unruly. Every time we request for something, she always tell us off! Unbelievable! The food was so-so and this waitress while we were on our main course removed the condiments to another table for the next customers! We complained to the manager who was also not helpful at all instead of assisting us instead tolerated everything that was happening. When our friends arrived from work they were told to queue on a corner and just decided to go home when it was apparent they will not get a table for the next hour. We had children with us too and made it worse to make it a good night out for us.One thing we've learned is we will not go back or recommend this awful restaurant to anybody!

My friend and I went for a New Years Eve meal here. We had a drink whilst waiting for our table a noticed only one bar staff member. This was the manageress who said 6 members of staff were off sick, and she informed us only 3 restaurant staff were in so apologised for any potential delays. She was obviously rushed off her feet, but remained curteous, polite and helpful. We waited about 35 mins for a table and about 15/20 minutes for our food - which was served by a very polite and helpful waiter and was cooked exactly as requested. The Manageress clearly had everything under control and considering she was on her own in the bar did not let this spoil the new years eve atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and time there. The Manageress on New Years Eve is to be highly commended and we will be recommending the food and the pub to our friends.

Typical Harvester really. OK to take the kids to (mine love the salad cart!), especially before 6.30 when there is 30% off the prices. Not somewhere to go for a romantic meal though. Food isn't brilliant and often over done.
