It's Valentine’s Day, your wedding anniversary or perhaps you've got a date with a special someone and you really would love to impress with your choice of venue but you don't have the slightest idea which to choose. Have you experienced this dilemma before? Don't worry, Oxo Tower Restaurant Bar and Brasserie is an impressive eatery located on the eighth floor with spectacular views over the Thames, guaranteed to take away the breath of even the most demanding.
The Vibe
Oxo Tower Restaurant’s prominent location in one the iconic buildings in the capital and the bird’s eye view of St.Paul’s Cathedral create unbeatable value. Seating on the terrace is accompanied by the impression of flying high in the sky. The ceiling is white during the day but changes into illuminated blue as the sun goes down and live jazz music strikes up. The restaurant has the instant air of upper-class but can be also enjoyed informally.
The Food
The food is as exceptional as the view. I personally love that it caters for vegetarians and even vegans with such options on the menu as mouth-watering marinated artichoke with sweet peppers and caper berries served in a delicious romesco sauce as a starter or a fresh and filling oven dried tomato tortellini mixed with rocket pesto, primavera vegetables and lemon ricotta as a main. In order to enrich your meal there is an extensive choice of 800 wines from around the world, which defines Oxo’s list as one of the best in London.
Why Do We Love It?
There are not many dining destinations that can compete with Oxo. It might not be cheap but won't ruin your bank account. However, it will definitely leave you with memories worth coming back to.

A great place to take visitors to London or for a romantic evening, as the Oxo Tower has a stunning view over the river from its 8th floor perch. Hayler’s law of food says that food gets worse as it gets higher – witness airline food, ski lodges, revolving restaurants etc, but this is an exception. Despite some bizarrely hostile press when it opened (perhaps the usual free meals and grovelling were not offered to the denizens of the fourth estate?) I have found the food here to be consistently competent.
The modern British cooking has a wide selection of dishes and avoids undue excess, and both fish and meat are executed well, while ingredients are generally good. You won’t get creative genius here, but you will get consistently well prepared, enjoyable cooking, and I wish I could say that of more restaurants. Service is fine though it can be a bit stretched at times. The wine list is also very good, with a wide selection from around the world.
Took my girlfriend up The Oxo Tower, what an experience! At first she was reluctant but when she found out what a painless experience it could be she was really into it. I was surprised to see a dog being taken up The Oxo Tower but then they are very tolerant in this restaurant and cater to every taste. I would recommend this experience to anyone.
