If one minute youre on the dance floor imitating classic rock and roll idols, the next chanting to some buzzing Brit-pop and then rocking out to some new age Indie music, while the stench of lager lingers in the air, you must be in Southamptons very own Lennons. In a city where few nights are dedicated to Indie and rock music, this small and intimate club is a diamond in the rough. It is a cosy, dark and endearingly dingy little dwelling full of wannabe rock and roll stars, Indie music lovers and like-minded fellows all out for a good time. Despite the readily available seating, Lennons is one of the only clubs where you will find almost 100% of the revellers on the dance floor, pulling crazy moves and genuinely enjoying themselves. With drinks costing as little as 1.50, students and locals alike flock to this increasingly popular but still relatively unknown haunt.Lennons boasts DJs on weeknights and live music on Saturday nights, with both local and new bands in the running. Entry is typically under 5 and the club is open until 3am.Although Lennons is not in the heart of Southamptons nightlife, it is only a short walk away. Plus it sits opposite a large pub, which is also known for its live music scene. The club is in a perfect setting and is a guaranteed rocking night out for Indie music fans.
what a complete nightmare, stay well away, trust me!
Used to go to Lennons regularly on a tuesday for their beat the clock night and a lot on fridays too but went really down hill after they refurbed a couple of years ago.Got dragged back there couple of weeks ago on a friday and had a great night. Playing good indie, grungy music again and not too crowded. Really good night out, had to drag me away
