The Old Steps is in my opinion the best place to eat at lunchtime in Leeds city centre.
It is small, but perfectly formed.
The draft beers are good and support a local brewery – Leeds Brewery, and the beer is good. They stock some very unusual continental beers also. The wine list is good and not expensive.
The chief – Raff and the other chap that part owns the place really run the place well and it always has a good buzz about it.
What really does make this a gem of a pub is the food.
I do not know how Raff manages to make such good food in such a small kitchen. Most domestic kitchens are bigger but he does it each and every time.
If you eat anywhere in Leeds, eat here, it is simply the best and the best value for money by a long way.
I hope the lads make a fortune from the place one day as they deserve it.
Well done and I will eat there soon.
