Just across the road from the Ulster Museum, Cafe Conor is a bright and airy restaurant. It’s a favourite of students and artists alike as there are always exhibitions on show.
Open for breakfast and brunch, through coffee, lunch, afternoon tea and eventually dinner. The coffee is good, I like especially like the home-baked scones. Other things of note on the menu are the range of pastas and other modern classics.
The place exudes a quiet charm with its booths and a long canteen style table down the centre. Popular with locals, this place is a real find for those visiting the Museum.
I haven't been here for a little while as I've been out of Belfast but a few years ago this was one for my favourite places to have a relaxing coffee and pastry. The staff here are very professional and friendly, its interior clean and stylish.
Arrived without a reservation and was reassured that this was not a problem at all on a busy Thursday night. Our meal was great, very well presented, although the food took a little time to get to our table!
My partner was helped by Sun a waiter, whilst ordering her food. She completely enjoyed the whole experience, in particular her pad Thai.
For me its a place to avoid at night but to discover during the day. The bar and grill serves decent food, which is a plus and you can play a game of pool in clean and decent surroundings. If there is a sporting event on, bag one of the couches and relax whilst you sup on a beer.
From the outside this is just an ordinary boozer. It’s very location puts you off. It all seems rather shabby. However it has recently been done up and is now home to the “cool and hip” crowd.
The atmosphere is friendly, the interior is very traditional, with painted floorboards. Drinks are a good price for town and they do cocktails which is very good in my book.
