"The" place to hang out in Sizzling Notting Hill. It's great to see the place back in use and "proper" use. A real community hub with great events, gigs, classes, a bar and restaurant. The spirit of the old neighbourhood is alive and kicking in Powis Square!
Chiswick is not cutting edge but it has a charm of its own. High Road Brassie is a lovely spot for a cheeky drink with a loved one. Really really recommened if you can nip upstairs to the club and hotel after for a night cap afterwards!
The Lion seems a little out of place on West End Lane. It is a really a venue for a drink after work, that you would expect to find in Fulham. That said the staff are friendly enough and the drinks are reasonably priced and the atmosphere is laid back.
I don’t know how authentic the food is here but 6 pounds for a burrito is fair deal if you ask me. I asked for a diet Coke, to wash it down, to be told by the waitress that they served only Organic Coke! To me this sounds like an oxymoron like “natural” synthetic fibres but it tasted ok, to be fair.
Lunch times are not very busy and the waitstaff are somewhat easy on the eye. All in all, a nice way to while away an hour or so chatting with an old mate over a taco.
Bare interior decoration, in the up to date manner but homely and friendly. A decent place to have a beer, coffee or meal, enjoying the evening sun whilst chilling in the beer garden.
