The Mighty Boosh – November 12th 2008
The hit TV show The Mighty Boosh came to Brighton this November for a number of Live dates at the Brighton Centre. The TV show starring Noel Fielding as fashion guru Vince Noir and Julian Barratt as jazz geek Howard Moon first took to the air on the BBC in 2004 and has since exploded into 3 television series and has had 2 live tours.
The show itself is brought to you by Vince Noir's new hair product sponsor Jean-Claude Jacquettie and we are treated to a “serious piece of theatre” written by Howard Moon warning us about the immediate future of the planet if we do not act upon the current environmental issues. Throughout the show we are introduced to a number of characters that feature in the television series including The Hitcher from Bethnal Green, Naboo the shaman with his side kick Bollo the Gorilla, the crazy American Bob Fossil, the Outrageous Tony Harrison, the crack addicted fox and lets not forget about The Moon. The Boosh Band also make several appearances throughout the show performing many of the favourite songs from the television series including Eels, The Tundra Rap and I Did A Shit On Your Mum.
A mixture of all the crimps, knob jokes and wardrobe changes was enough to keep a laughing smile on the audiences faces for the entirety of the show. This particular show was followed by an aftershow party at the Ocean rooms with a DJ set from Fielding and Barratt and a live performance by Robots In Disguise. It is well worth going to see whether you are familiar with the television series or not.
The current UK tour which started in September and goes into early January 2009 has over 90 dates having recently had more added including a return to the Brighton Centre on the 13th December. So book your tickets now!
