This loud and expensive nightspot in Piccadilly is extremely popular, most probably because of it's location; conveniently placed in close proximity to two major tube stations and well served by bus and taxi along the busy main road it's impossible to miss. As I huddle by the back entrance ready to claim my guestlist free entry (daahling) I couldn't help but survey the crowd, a real mixed bag of all sorts and, ignoring the slurring drunk on my left complimenting my dress, I step into the venue.
The layout is a bit of a maze, but music policies are well divided between each area with no audio overspill. First, the corny room, playing 70s, 80s and one hit wonders, then up some stairs into an tightly packed (and very hot) area blaring a fusion of pop, a few drips of mainstream RnB, house and any other commercial chart music of the moment. For those who like this type of music you'll have the night of your life at this place. It was quite difficult to admire the decor as it's such a crowded club, but the coloured seating, uplit bar and cosy cocktail lounge (where my party took up residence) looked great and, for me, contributed to a pleasant partying experience. The toilets were spotless too - yay! However, the cocktail bar is situated on the upper level and is directly above the front entrance, so if you can't take the cold book a table elsewhere in the building.
The drinks are expensive, so if you're someone who likes a tipple or two it's probably best to make this the 3rd stop on the crawl. You'll save £££s. As for me the most important part of a night out is the music, I wasn't that impressed by the policy at Tiger Tiger, but the pleasant surroundings, friendly bar staff and clean toilets (had to get that in again - I know the ladies will appreciate that one, right girls?) made this night pretty bearable. In all it was ok, not really my bag so highly unlikely to become a weekly haunt (I'd have to auction all my belongings on Ebay in order to fund that). I have heard the downstairs club area plays better music so I'll have to check that out another time.
