The Dex is an impressive place with great music to meet most tastes. It features a beautiful roof top in central Brixton set over 2 levels. Visitors can also enjoy wide views of Brixton from the venue's first floor location. There's also a small hotel on the top floor.
The downstairs pub has a late licence which is great for a late cheeky swift one.
The food is good in the standard Pizza Express way but the restaurant is in need of a spring make over. A little more natural light or just taking down the central wall would create the illusion of more space. This place is just too pokey and dark.
One of the more pleasant ways to spend an hour on West End Lane. Once an old Fish Shop, hence the name, the Wet Fish Fish Cafe sees yummy mummies, students and ladies lunching who work their way through the menu every day in large numbers. Service is personable and the menu whilst not being large offers quality food and not eye watering prices.
Ten plus years ago this was probably "the" place on Old Compton Street. The fact that its still up there says a lot about the owners, punters and the place in general. If I'm meeting a friend in Soho its still a good place to rendezvous and the food passes muster.
One of the oldest gay clubs in East London, BJ's White Swan has a great mix of fantastic cabaret, hot strippers and themed nights every night of the week. Sunday evenings see Ballroom, line dancing and Latin, camp and lots fun!
