It's only just begun...

Hellooooo all,

Congratulations on finding the face behind the new editor@bristol for myvillage. This page is for all my larkings... probably mainly pictures of me and mates in Bristol. Also will put a few personal reviews up too... as often my tastes vary from the norm sometimes.

So drop me an "oooo arrhhh" and "alright mate" to me message box to get in contact. Lets have a chat about this slavery malarkey or even that rather large concrete shopping development, now known as the circus.

When I first went to Browns I was very excited! It mixes old with new and has afternoon tea! This was a beautiful scone with real clotted cream, sandwiches and tea. However, I recently went there on my graduation day with parents to celebrate and the food seems to have gone down hill. The starter was lovely- melted camembert with bread for dipping. However, not one of us enjoyed our main meal. I hope that we just happened to catch them on a bad day, if not then they should fire their chief before people go elsewhere.

Dylan Moran: What It Is
01-12-2008

1 Review(s)

When Dylan first came onto the stage my first reaction was: wow he looks a lot cleaner than I expected. I unconsciously expected Bernard from Black books to come on to the stage and make his funny noises. But of course I was greeted with something much better. Dylan Moran is a cynic and that is why I love him so dearly. His moans and groans about life match ours exactly; from hating mornings, hating youth right up to his love of chocolate. Dylan brings a truly unique performance wherever he goes. Whenever I speak to someone who went to see him they always begin relaying jokes I hadn’t heard of! This man had everyone in fits of laughter from start to finish, making all the linking chairs seem constantly on vibrate

Tamarind Indian Restaurant

There is nothing better than a good curry in my mind. This place is a special favourite to the locals of Downend and beyond. The influence of Indian culture on the restaurant is subtle but maintains beautiful arches, soft lighting and rich colours. It's like being invited into a modern day palace where the food is also fit for a King! All the British much-loved dishes set to fill you fit to bursting point, so make sure you make plenty of room.

The King William, Bristol
The King William

As you step off the cobbled Streets outside and into the King William, you will feel like you have warped back in time. This grade 5 listed building is beautiful and a great place to meet your mates for a casual drink. Plenty of room spans upstairs and downstairs you will find three roasting fires for your delight.

With reference to the rant about the food below, it is not restaurant. At the end of the day it's a pub and does pub food. It's brilliant if you are looking for something quick, uncomplicated and filling. So do not let the past reviews put you off ordering a few chips! yum yum...

Snow!

I have been waiting years for this snow to finally come. Every time it has snowed in the past, I was all excited and geared up only to see that it wouldn't settle. But YES! it has settled and its glorious! But it seems I am the only one in the world who seems happy about it. What's all this complaining about how much it has cost the industry...blah blah blah. Who gives a damn! I heard recently that Brit's work more than their hours and work harder than they should so why shouldn't we have a day… Continue
