It may seem highly irrelevant as i havent yet been able to eat there... but i booked into bumpkin on saturday night the 20th... it was an important night for me, i'm an aussie living in london and it was my mum's first time meeting my english boyfriend... we got there for our 9 pm booking and all the power was out... they quickly admitted that over half the menu was unavailable... we ordered water and then read over the menu-- without everything available it became sadly short... in the end we admitted to the waiter that we couldn't stay on and would move onto another restaurant.. not only was he agreeable and supportive but he recommended that we make sure we could get in somewhere else before wandering around notting hill in a caring manner.. he was such a lovely guy, as all the staff seemed to be, straight away admitting how serious the problem was... working in hospitality i personally know so many problems are never passed on to the customers.. they gave us the water we had drunk while considering the menu complimentary and were so friendly even when we admitted we were going to have to leave in efforts to find a more comprehensive menu elsewhere.. i am looking forward to going to bumpkin when theyre power is on..the level of service we received in a short five minutes was incredibly accommodating, polite and honest. credits to their staff!!
