Island's amazing cocktails, shabby chic style and music policy what se this place apart from other bars nearby. The drinks are modestly priced and the clientelle cool.
A fine pub, though a little bit pokey. The rooms are enlivened with log fires and the odd old lag, which help create a warm atmosphere, never know it even half full though.
I wanted to like the loft as it has many things going for it. It’s in China Town, it has an outside patio, its clientele are mixed and so on. The bar however is an example of bar design cum painting by numbers. Large TV screens sit next to purple drapes, exposed brick work, shinny flock wall paper, with chandeliers set against strip lighting. It doesn’t work on any aesthetic level. It’s a soulless place where Kylie blasts forth the speakers and older men in pressed jeans drink larger.
Drinks are reasonably priced and the bar staff pleasant enough but these plus points are just not enough to bring me back.
The beating heart of Moseley, the Bulls head plays host too many great nights. Mondays sees Jam Jah spinning old skool reggae other nights see Indie, mash ups and other genres. So you have to be careful when going upstairs as it can be hit or miss if you wonder into a Goth and Metal night when you want Hip Hop. The Bulls Head caters for a broad spectrum of tastes.
The bar staff are not great and are here purely because they look cool and every kid in B13 wants to work here. So be prepared to wait a long time to get served. It can get very full here, especially at the weekend.
A gay friendly cafe bar at the edge of the Arcadian just across the road from the Hippodrome, its ideal for a night out. Food prices can seem a little high but I've always found the food here great. The buzzing atmosphere and extremely friendly staff make this place out from others nearby.
