We regularly go to Blowing Wild's "Afterlife" Club Night. This is a top Alternative only Club Night once a month for discerning adults! It has a friendly, intimate atmosphere! The New venue is comfortable, warm and modern, all the staff and customers at Afterlife are welcoming. It is the best alternative lifestyle event I have been to!!!! I went to the Saturday nighter (8/11/08) and had a good time, a very different mix of people with no trouble. Two out of the three bands were good, but this in only my opinion, and I am not saying the third was not; just not to my taste. If you can repeat this I think you will put Preston and Blowing Wild on the entertainment map.

Ive been going to blowing wild for a while now and i think it is definitely a good night out, the staff are always friendly and DJ Brian & DJ Lee are very friendly and always play a song if you ask but it has to fit in with the kind of music that is played on that night. It has definitely improved since it has had new management and the prices are a lot better.

I've just moved to Preston to start university this September and coming from a city roughly the same size and with only one gay hotspot I'm really surprised in the local peoples support or lack of. All I've read is negative reviews and you wonder why your not getting younger, fresher faces in your club. Start giving them some credit, big it up and you'll get people through the door. It's a business at the end of the day, the more people they get threw the doors, the more they can spend improving the facilities.A club is what you make it, not the sexuality of a manager.This is just an outsiders perspective.

Thanks for your comment Chris, however you couldn't be more wrong. We have a very good door policy, and the place is constantly friendly, and has a better atmosphere than ever. I can only assume you haven't been in to try it. Although the manager is straight, he has a very strong team of gay & lesbian staff behind him to help.And as for people finding other places to go, I think you'll find we've been busier than ever over the last few weekends, with over 100 customers last night.Please don't post comments like this, when our facebook pages, website and customers are all testament to the fact that they aren't true. We hope to see you soon so you can see the difference!
