Had lunch at Thai Edge with my wife and had the set menu, found the decor lovely and very welcoming place to eat. The resturant was empty apart from a couple of regulaur visitors which I found strange as this was right next door to the hospital and on the door step of the civic hall. As I have not had Thai before I was open minded and so was my wife, I had the soup which and more herbs and wood in it than your local forest but it was nice apart from eating the wood. main course great and so was coffee for afters.
thai edge is good but not great, it needs more poeple to make the place feel more busy, you do not feel like sitting alone to have lunch even thou I was with my wife. Score reflexs the customer level but overall the food is great would recommend.

The food was excellent, the portions were also of a very good standard. I ate one of the King Prawn dishes and it was delicious and very filling. However, upon paying for the bill the rudeness of the staff was unbelievable. The optional sevice charge came to around 12... being in a group and paying seperately we were about 47p short of the 'Optional' charge (after the service wasn't that great anyway) the lady counted the money at the table (!) and then went on to say we hadn't paid the full tip.. When we said it was optional and we were a little short of an already substantial tip, she snapped up the bill and walked away. No thanks for the 11.50 tip they recieved.
On a positive note, the food here is delicious, and I would say that is worth the quite high prices. However, the service on our visit (Saturday night) was ABSOLUTELY APPALLING. I have never experienced such poor service. I am a coeliac (gluten allergy), and when we asked the waitress if the prawn cracker appetisers were gluten free, she reponded simply by telling us that she didn't know! No attempt to find out. After we had finished our starters, our dirty plates were left on the table for 45 minutes, and only finally cleared when our mains arrived. After the main course, our plates were left there for one hour and 30 minutes- basically until we left. Each time we ordered a round of drinks, they took upto 15 minutes to arrive- to the point that the last round actually arrived AFTER we had paid the bill (including this round of drinks!).For a restaurant which supposedly has such a good reputation, the service was genuinly shocking. None of us would ever eat there again.
Awesome!!! Just fabolusly managed and QUALITY FOOD with great caring staff wich leads towards fantastic experience. Worth visting.
Was taken there on Valentines night as a surprise!! The staff were welcoming and the service excellent and the complimentary glass of bubbly a thoughtful touch. The food was excellent, by far the best Thai cuisine I have tasted. Not the cheapest place to eat, but well worth the cost, especially for a special occasion. Have booked again for Christmas!! If you like excellent food, great atmosphere and friendly staff you really should try this restaurant.
