British blokes are re-using excuses, compliments and even their underwear!

It's fair to say we're all for doing our bit for the environment but it seems British men are taking it a bit too far.  According to new research 53% of men confess to recycling the same repertoire of predictable compliments to charm every girl they meet.  They even deem women as recyclable commodities by passing their girlfriends on once their relationship has come to an end, with 1 in 5 men admitting to dating a woman who has previously gone out with a friend or family member.

Men even recycle excuses, according to the study by Ribena who are celebrating their 100% recycled bottles being on shelves.  Nearly a third of blokes cheekily reuse the same old lines for turning up late for a date and for avoiding the housework.  Four million men have used the same excuses for ending a relationship on more than 2 occasions - is there anything they won't recycle?  Apparently not, with 23% of men also confessing to re-using their pants without washing in between!

But what is the key to a happy and sustainable relationship? Don't forget about what's underneath. Try not to recycle any bad habits from your last relationship to creep into your new romance - these really should be consigned to the bin once and for all. If money's a bit tight, why not treat the new light of your life to a nice home cooked meal?  Make sure you recycle all your empties afterwards - you can even recycle your bottles. Whatever you do, steer clear of recycled cheesy chat-up lines and resist the urge to re-use your dirty underwear!

Commenting on the findings of the poll, relationship expert Judi James said: "As well as revealing some very positive aspects about Britain's recycling habits, this research shows that some have perhaps taken it too far.  Guys in particular seem a little too fond of recycling bad relationship habits, and many of them will hinder men's chances of a happy relationship in the long run."
