The film sees David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reprise their roles of Mulder and Scully and they are joined on screen by Billy Connolly, Amanda Peet along with hip hop artist Xzibit.
The X-Files: I Want To Believe is directed by the series creator Chris Carter from a script written by him and long term collaborator Frank Spotnitz.
Whilst details of the story are being kept under wraps in order to prevent plot spoilers, Chris Carter has said that he wanted to make a film that would appeal to everyone “There’s a whole new audience I want to introduce to THE X-FILES, this is a stand-alone movie and it is not a mythology, conspiracy movie.”
