"After all the publicity about her private life in recent years, Sienna really hoped this award would make people sit up and take notice of her acting talents. Rhys reckoned it would have been the best speech of the night if she’d won. Unfortunately things didn’t go to plan."
Sienna has flown to Los Angeles to try and forget about the awards snub, and Rhys will reportedly be joining her.
The source added: "Rhys knows Sienna is rather down that she didn’t win and wants to be there for her over the coming days."
Rhys and Sienna’s tiff - Feb 13 2008
Rhys Ifans and girlfriend Sienna Miller apparently had a fall-out at the Baftas after she suggested the Welshman’s hair was falling out.
The 39-year-old actor’s famous blond locks reportedly took a hit from Sienna when she teased that guests at the awards sitting in the upper levels of the Royal Opera House auditorium would be able to see Rhys’s bald spot.
A source at the event told the Daily Star: "Sienna was having a bit of a joke with Rhys but it obviously hurt his pride."
At 26, the actress is 13 years younger than her Emmy-nominated, Bafta-winning boyfriend.
According to recent reports, Rhys has proposed to Sienna on several occasions.
Meanwhile it has been reported that Sienna has recently passed her driving test on the second attempt.
According to the Sunday Mirror, she said: "I’ll be in LA for the next few months filming the movie GI Joe and it’s like a ghost town if you can’t drive."
Sienna paps drove cars ’like dodgems’ - Feb 11 2008
Sienna Miller was pursued by paparazzi driving their cars like "dodgems" as she travelled home from last year’s Baftas, a court heard.
Otis Ferry told West London Magistrates’ Court the photographers were driving "like lunatics" and he feared they’d cause a crash.
Frustrated by the absence of police, he removed the keys from two of their cars and threw them on the ground to stop the pursuit. Ferry, 25, of Cross Houses, Shrewsbury, son of Roxy Music’s Bryan Ferry, denies two charges of criminal damage.
The chase happened after Sienna, then dating Ferry’s brother Isaac, left London’s Boujis nightclub last February 12. She’d been at a private party post Baftas.
Ferry said he got in his brother’s Land Rover intending to follow Sienna home. He said it became clear there were "quite a few vehicles and they were absolutely stopping at nothing to get after us". He said: "These cars were driving at us incredibly aggressively, initially trying to get between Isaac’s car and Sienna’s car."
Sienna telephoned Ferry’s brother after leaving the club to say she feared the photographers would follow her home.
Ferry said: "From what I understand from what Sienna had said, they were desperate to find out where she lived."
He said he was "shaken" by the "very scary" driving of the photographers, adding: "It was like dodgems driving."
The vehicles stopped at lights and Ferry got out to ask the photographer behind what he was doing, the court heard. Ferry said: "I just thought, this is the only way I’m going to stop these guys. So I put my hand into the car, pulled the key out then threw it in front of his car."

Sienna’s parents divorced rather early in her life and she moved to England with her mother, where Jo took on the job of running London’s Lee Strasberg drama school.
Sienna spent most of her adolescent life at Heathfield School, a boarding school in Ascot. On her return to London she enrolled at the prestigious Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute.
Early theatre performances were on the stages of New York and include The Striker, Independence and Cigarettes & Chocolate, directed by Anthony Minghella, who’s famous for helming the movie The English Patient (1996).
In New York she was ’spotted’ by Select Modeling agency, she continued to model on her return to England.
After starring in a few underrated television shows, Paramount Pictures signed her up to a seven-year contract. It was following this that she began to grab a few roles in some big budget silver screen productions, including Layer Cake, Alfie and Casanova.
After co-starring in Alfie together, Sienna began a relationship with one of the UK’s hottest men, Jude Law, and it is mostly this soapbox of a relationship that bagged her the most column inches.
Sienna went on to play Celia in a West End stage production of As You Like It, fulfilling a life times ambition - however not to great acclaim.
In 2006 she finished filming Factory Girl, in which she plays Andy Warhol’s muse Edie Sedgewick.
