"I think they’re going to be happy and surprised," she said. "They’re going to feel a lot of sadness and hopefully understand what it is that happened in Carrie’s life, and they’re going to feel a lot of contentment when it’s over."

SJP chooses the hard path - Jan 22 2008

Post Sex And The City, Sarah Jessica Parker admits she’s looking for a challenge in her choice of roles - she actually prefers to play parts that leave her terrified!

"Out of all the parts and pieces that make up making a movie, it’s the director first and foremost, then the screenplay and then asking, is it unfamiliar?" she explained.

"Would it make me very nervous and would I feel like I would fail and fall short? Those things kind of appeal to me, and even though the daily business of feeling that terrified isn’t a great way to function, I kind of like it."

And Sarah Jessica’s latest role - as ER doctor Janet, alongside Dennis Quaid in the movie Smart People - more than matched her expectations.

"With a script and a cast like this, it just doesn’t happen very often," she admitted.

"All those parts are so exciting and compelling and I really felt very privileged to be asked. There’s lots of things that may be available to you but I think the real challenge as an actor is to not do what is necessarily the most lucrative or the most comfortable or what comes easiest, it’s a challenge to avoid that seduction."

Smart People is one of the movies being shown at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah.

I don’t do midriffs, says SJP - Dec 3 2007
Sarah Jessica Parker may be known for her Sex And The City alter ego’s ambitious wardrobe, but it seems there are some styles the actress would not dare to wear.

The 42-year-old fashion icon is currently filming her scenes as Carrie Bradshaw for the much-anticipated SATC movie, but said she would not be donning any "super low rise jeans", reports the Daily Express.

She is quoted as telling Easy Living magazine: "There is not going to be any inappropriate midriff showing, regardless of age. It’s provocative in a way that I just don’t feel comfortable with."

And Sarah apparently admitted that her fashionista status has even affected her actor husband Matthew Broderick.

"Before he knew me, Matthew felt very confident about dressing on his own. I seem to have sapped his confidence. It’s just that I buy him so much that I think he feels it has taken away his ability to make his own decisions."

SJP wins ’unsexiest’ award - Oct 29 2007

Poor Sarah Jessica Parker! She may be loved by women around the world for her unique sense of style, but it seems the Sex And The City star doesn’t appeal to men.

While celebrities like Charlize Theron and Jessica Alba often find themselves at the top of Hollywood’s sexiest women, SJP has come bottom in a list by Maxim.

The list, published in the new issue of the lads’ mag, found Sarah Jessica as the unsexiest woman in Tinseltown, followed by beehive-loving Amy Winehouse and Grey’s Anatomy’s Sandra Oh.

"How the hell did this Barbaro-faced broad manage to be the least sexy woman in a group of very unsexy women and still star on a show with ’sex’ in the title?" the magazine wrote.

The British singer was picked for her "translucent skin and rats’ nest mane", while the Canadian actress, who plays Dr Cristina Yang in the medical drama, had a "cold bedside manner and boyish figure".
