"How lucky is that? We got him in this movie and I feel like we got him when he was cheap," she smiled. "He’s not going to be cheap any more. He’s so great and cute."

Despite being one of the world’s most successful actresses, Reese Witherspoon still has her insecurities.

"I hate that the paparazzi takes my picture when I’m on vacation," the star of upcoming film Penelope told Extra. "Oh, my god, did they see my butt? I hope they did not see my butt.

"I wore giant Coke-bottled glasses as a kid, so I was four eyes," she also told Entertainment Tonight. "Because I was short, I was the last one to be developed - which is a horrible thing to be as a girl. It taught me so much. I never could make the sports teams. So I always had to be funny if I was going to be anybody’s friend or get any attention.

"These experiences are very formative," she adds. "It’s great to have to struggle in some ways. You learn this later. ... It really makes you who you are."

Reese Witherspoon has proved she’s just like any other working mum by revealing how she feels she doesn’t have enough time to spend with her children.

"Like every working parent, I sometimes feel that there are not enough hours in the day," says the 31-year-old in the February issue of Marie Claire.

"But overall, I’m very fortunate that my job has a lot of flexibility. I spend a lot of time with the kids, just around the house. They’re still pretty young, so I feel like what I can mostly do is listen to them and be there for them."

The Hollywood actress is now a single mother to eight-year-old Ava and four-year-old Deacon - her ex-husband is actor Ryan Philippe.

And she admits that she has concerns as any other mother would.

"I worry about my kids growing up and how the world might hurt them," Reese adds.

"But at the same time, I absolutely do not worry about them growing up - because they have great values and a great sense of self."

And it seems Hollywood star Reese Witherspoon, mother to eight-year-old Ava and four-year-old Deacon, has worked out a way to do so.

"Reese sends Ava and Deacon to the set well in advance," a source on her new film, Four Christmases, told the New York Daily News.

"She knows that she is a draw for the paparazzi, so once the kids are safely in her trailer, Reese drives in with the photographers en masse behind her. She’s a great mum with them on set."

The 31-year-old blonde - who scooped an Oscar for her dazzling performance in Johnny Cash biopic Walk The Line - is currently shooting the Christmas romantic comedy with The Break-Up star Vince Vaughn. They play a loving newlywed couple onscreen.

The 31-year-old Academy Award winner commands 15 to 20 million dollars per movie, placing her at the top of The Hollywood Reporter’s annual list of the highest-paid actresses.
