Lily to launch record label? - Oct 15 2007
Lily Allen is reportedly set to launch her own record label.
The 22-year-old Smile songstress hopes to provide a launch pad for British talent, reports the Daily Mirror.
A source told the paper: "Lily has a wise head on her shoulders and is really excited about the idea of having her own business empire.
"She loves making music but she’s also brilliant at spotting talent, as she was in the underground scene for a few years before her career took off."
When Lily first heard singer Kate Nash she apparently tried to help her become a star.
"Lily spotted Kate a while ago and was emailing the movers and shakers in the industry to watch out for her," the source said.
"She also encouraged Kate to use MySpace as a tool to get her music out there, and to write blogs to her fans."
This is just one of Lily’s business ventures - earlier this year she released a fashion line for New Look and she has also recently bagged a lucrative deal as the face of Braun Satin Hair.
Lily: I’m actually quite shy - Oct 9 2007
Lily Allen has revealed that she is quite shy when it comes to approaching men - and says she doesn’t get chatted up because they are intimidated by her.
The songstress, who recently split up with long-term boyfriend Seb Chew, told OK! magazine: "I think men are intimidated by me - and quite rightly so!
"I’m actually quite shy when I go out, unless I’m drunk, in which case I’m the complete opposite."

As the daughter of Britpop icon Keith Allen and film producer Alison Owen, Lily Allen (born May 2 1985) was destined to be famous. Born in Hammersmith, London, she moved around a lot as a child, living in Ireland’s Co Kildare before eventually settling in Islington.
With early dreams of pop stardom Lily was signed to Warner Bros in 2002 thanks, in no small part, to her father. However the partnership was short lived and in 2005 she signed to the lesser known Regal. Despite reported pressure to release pop songs she instead decided to release her tracks for free download on MySpace.com. It was through the website that she found fame, becoming a true internet star before even releasing a single. The buzz created though resulted in a rush release of LDN on limited edition 7" in early 2005.
In 2006 Lily released her debut album Alright, Still to critical and public acclaim, reaching number 2 in the UK charts. She also released Smile, the track which finally launched her in to the public’s conciousness. This was followed by a full re-release of LDN.
