News emerged that Lily lost her baby last week, shortly after she and Ed had returned from a luxury break to the Maldives.

A source told the paper: "She’s incredibly low at the moment, but doesn’t want to let her fans down. It will be a very upbeat night so in a way it’s the tonic she needs."

Singer Lily Allen has lost her baby, according to reports.

The 22-year-old was expecting her first child with boyfriend Ed Simons from the band the Chemical Brothers.

But The Sun newspaper reported the star - daughter of actor Keith Allen - had suffered a miscarriage.

The paper quoted a source close to the singer saying: "The bad news has been really difficult for them to take and they are absolutely heartbroken.

"Lily’s entire outlook on life changed after she found out she was pregnant. She was looking forward to being a mum and starting a family with Ed.

"She had turned her back on the party girl image and turned over a new leaf."

Lily met Simons, 39, after a Chemical Brothers’ gig in London’s Trafalgar Square in September.

Her spokesman confirmed the news to the newspaper.

The singer’s second album is due out later this year and a BBC show is also planned.

The 22-year-old star - who recently announced she is pregnant with the couple’s first child - is apparently being treated by Ed to a £3,000 a night at a five-star resort on the secluded isle as a late Christmas present.

A source told The Sun: "Ed wanted to treat Lily with a holiday she would never forget.

"They wanted to have a decent break while Lily was still allowed to fly. It is the last time for a while they will be able to enjoy time alone together without being up to their elbows in nappies."

The Smile singer - who recently announced she is pregnant with boyfriend Ed Simons - turned to Harley Street expert Susan Hepbern who helped her drop two dress sizes last year after reprogramming her brain to enjoy healthy organic food and associate trips to the gym with feeling happy.

Now the 22-year-old is desperate to quit her 20-a-day habit - and has decided to ask Susan to help her, according to The Sun.

A source said: "She wants to crack this. She realises it will be a struggle but her baby is more important.

"Lily is aware that she is a role model and wants to portray a positive image of herself for young people to look up to."
