Lily rejuvenates BBC Three - Mar 13 2008
Lily Allen's new chat show has been credited with pulling in the younger viewers to BBC Three.
The channel's share of young audiences is up by 44 per cent just one month after its new revamp, and Lily Allen And Friends has helped make the difference.
Danny Cohen, controller of BBC Three, said: "I'm delighted that young audiences have responded so positively to the changes we've made to BBC Three. We are going to continue to work hard to introduce new programmes and new talent to our target audience."
Lily Allen And Friends was the second most requested programme on BBC iPlayer the day after its first episode and the Smile singer's show is now averaging 30,000 visitors to its website every week.
Other BBC Three shows to have helped attract younger viewers include Dawn Gets Naked and Being Human.
BBC Three now has the highest share of 16 to 34-year-old viewers of all the digital channels. Some 4.8 million young viewers tuned in to the channel in the first week of its relaunch.
Lily stays off the booze? - Mar 5 2008
Lily Allen has apparently revealed that she has stayed off alcohol since losing her baby.
The 22-year-old songstress, who now presents her own chat show on BBC Three, has ditched her former partying ways since she suffered a miscarriage and split from Chemical Brother Ed Simons earlier this year, reports The Sun.
She was quoted as telling Glamour: "When I was pregnant I stopped drinking and I didn’t start again. Then when the baby was gone, I thought, ’That doesn’t mean I’m going to go back to how I was’."
The Smile singer added that she finds it easier to avoid the perils of the showbiz lifestyle by staying in.
"I’ve been sad and quite lonely recently because if you’re young, living in London and working in this industry, unless you take drink and drugs, there’s not much to do.
"I’ve been sitting on my own, watching TV. It’s boring to go out if everyone else is taking cocaine and shouting at me," she said.
And Lily spoke about her former sworn enemy Cheryl Cole, saying: "Cheryl has had an awful time. Two years ago I’d have been ’Ha ha!’. Now I could never take anything positive from someone suffering."
Rupert on date with Lily? - Feb 26 2008
Harry Potter star Rupert Grint has apparently got his sights set on a rock n roll romance with newly-single Lily Allen, after the pair were spotted on a date.
Just weeks after his co-star Emma Watson was pictured with Razorlight frontman Johnny Borrell, it seems Rupert has been getting quite close to Smile singer Lily following her split from Chemical Brother Ed Simons.
A source told the Daily Star: "Lily met Rupert at the Order Of The Phoenix premiere last year where they swapped numbers and have texted each other regularly... After Lily’s split from Ed things changed. Rupert offered Lily a shoulder to cry on and she’s taken it."
The source added: "They get on really well and he makes her laugh. Last week they enjoyed a Japanese meal together in North London. Rupert drove Lily to the restaurant in his black mini and sheltered her from prying eyes.
"She is still dealing with the terrible start to the year she’s had to face, losing her baby and splitting with Ed, but these two would really work as a couple."
Worker fleeces Lily? - Feb 18 2008
A cheeky strip club worker apparently fleeced Lily Allen for £3,500 by taking taxis to and from work in the singer’s name.

As the daughter of Britpop icon Keith Allen and film producer Alison Owen, Lily Allen (born May 2 1985) was destined to be famous. Born in Hammersmith, London, she moved around a lot as a child, living in Ireland’s Co Kildare before eventually settling in Islington.
With early dreams of pop stardom Lily was signed to Warner Bros in 2002 thanks, in no small part, to her father. However the partnership was short lived and in 2005 she signed to the lesser known Regal. Despite reported pressure to release pop songs she instead decided to release her tracks for free download on MySpace.com. It was through the website that she found fame, becoming a true internet star before even releasing a single. The buzz created though resulted in a rush release of LDN on limited edition 7" in early 2005.
In 2006 Lily released her debut album Alright, Still to critical and public acclaim, reaching number 2 in the UK charts. She also released Smile, the track which finally launched her in to the public’s conciousness. This was followed by a full re-release of LDN.
