Keira Knightley is apparently branching out into singing.

The 22-year-old actress has recorded three songs to release on an album coinciding with her upcoming movie The Edge Of Love, reports the Daily Mail.

The film - written by the star's mother Sharman Macdonald - is about Welsh poet Dylan Thomas, his mistress Vera Phillips, played by Keira, and his wife Caitlin MacNamara, played by Sienna Miller.

It opens with Keira singing Blue Tahitian Moon in a London bomb shelter during the Blitz.

Keira reportedly confessed while filming: "I can't really sing. I had to have a few lessons but once I started doing it, a sound emerged that wasn't too disagreeable."

The Mail says Keira has also recorded Irving Berlin's Maybe It's Because I Love You Too Much and Drifting And Dreaming, which she also sings in the film.

It reports that the songs will all be released, along with recordings by other artists, on Universal's Classics and Jazz label in the summer, to coincide with the film's release.

Keira Knightley has apparently revealed that Bjork and Helena Bonham Carter are her top style icons.

The 22-year-old actress - who has previously admitted she hates dressing for the red carpet - has named the offbeat Icelandic singer and the quirky British actress as two women whose dress sense she admires, reports the Daily Express.

The Atonement star is quoted as saying: "I don’t think I’m confident enough yet to be used to being in the limelight because of my style.

"But I loved the swan dress Bjork wore to the 2001 Oscars. I’d love to have the courage to do the same. Helena wears whatever she wants and looks amazing."

But despite choosing such adventurous dressers to look up to, it doesn’t sound like Keira will be making any outrageous outfit choices of her own just yet.

She apparently added: "I’ve become phobic of the red carpet because all I can think is, I’m going to be in the worst dressed list tomorrow."

Keira Knightley has apparently revealed the secret of her buxom looks in the Pirates Of The Caribbean films.

The 22-year-old actress, who admits she is flat-chested, was given a busty makeover for her role as corset-clad Elizabeth Swann in the adventure movies, reports the Daily Star.

She was quoted as saying: "They painted my t*** on me, which is extraordinary because it’s a dying art form - in the past they had whole sections of of the studios devoted to boob make-up."

Keira apparently revealed that it took 45 minutes before filming her scenes for the make-up artists to give her the perfect cleavage.

She added: "I completely loved it because it was the first time in my life that I had big t*** and I didn’t even need surgery."

The ancient art of asset-enhancing reportedly involves a darker shade of base make-up being applied between the bosoms to increase the appearance of the cleavage.
