Wannabe WAGs would have to fork out more than £50,000 to look like Victoria Beckham, Alex Curran and Coleen McLoughlin, according to a new survey.

Researchers at Virgin Money worked out the glamourous lifestyle of a footballer’s wife costs £28,815 upfront and a further £21,855 to maintain.

Top of the list is a designer wardrobe costing £7,050, the Daily Star reports.

True WAGs will also have to splash out on £9,360 worth of "body conditioning" to squeeze into designer frocks.

A boob job is a must-have at £5,750, according to the paper, and it costs £2,480 to socialise "in all the right places".

All this is just for starters. The cost of maintaining the WAG life - and stopping your footballer playing away - is a further £21,855, the paper says.

This includes hair care, a personal trainer, tanning treatments and fashionable clothes.

Extravagant WAGs include David Beckham’s wife Victoria, who is known for her designer dressing, Steven Gerrard’s fiancee Alex, who is a regular at celebrity parties, and Coleen, who reportedly receives a £200,000 allowance from fiance Wayne Rooney.

There is good news however - bagging a Championship boyfriend may cost as little as £31,400, and girls can woo a Conference star for just £500.
