The star has not been in a film since she gave birth to daughter Suri, with husband Tom Cruise. It has been rumoured that Tom is heavily involved in his wife’s career, encouraging her to take more challenging roles.

It’s thought she is set to sign up for Mad Money, a wacky comedy about thieving Federal Reserve workers, alongside Queen Latifah.

Apparently, the Batman producers are recasting Katie’s character, although no names have yet cropped up.

Is there trouble in paradise? It seems celebrity newlyweds Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have been arguing whilst on honeymoon in the Maldives.

The problems apparently started after the couple boarded their private jet from Rome to their luxury destination and Tom’s best man David Miscavige, flew with them.

Mum-of-one Katie was said to be tired, emotional and upset that Tom had brought the senior Scientologist along.

An insider told Star magazine: "It was hardly a romantic start. Katie had the wedding of her dreams in Italy, but she wasn’t expecting what followed."

Despite their star-studded ceremony, the honeymoon plans weren’t quite so simple - they were reportedly changed five times in the run-up to their big day.

"They couldn’t agree where they were going," the source added. "Initially Tom wanted to bring the two older children, Isabella and Connor, with them on honeymoon, but it didn’t happen in the end. Katie really wanted it to be just the two of them."

Also the actress’ dad Martin was apparently upset that the wedding was conducted by a Scientology minister.

"Katie’s dad is very religious and wasn’t happy. Eventually, Martin persuaded them to include a blessing from a priest too."

Tom Cruise’s extravagant Italian wedding to Katie Holmes has been branded a stunt - after it emerged the couple married in LA last week.

Tom’s spokesman confirmed a legally binding ceremony had already taken place in the US by the time Tom and Katie exchanged vows in a castle at the weekend.

The spokesman said this was "customary for couples marrying outside of the United States," the Sun reports.

On Saturday, Tom and Katie enjoyed a Scientology service at Odescalchi castle in front of family and friends.

Victoria Beckham, Jennifer Lopez and Will Smith were among the guests who applauded when Katie walked down the aisle.

But according to the paper, the locals were offended when the couple failed to smile and wave at them.

The Mayor of Bracciano, Patrizia Riccioni, told the Sun she was now considering withdrawing the honorary citizenship she awarded Tom and Katie just days ago.

"It would have been nice for them to stop and wave," she said.

Local Catholic priest Nicola Fiorentini was upset the wedding was conducted by a Scientology minister.

He reportedly rang the bells at Mass to disturb Tom and Katie’s 20-minute ceremony.
