Katie Holmes' latest performance in comedy Mad Money has been panned by critics, reports Us Weekly.

The New York Times says Katie's performance in her first role since marrying Tom Cruise and giving birth to daughter Suri is "the movie's weakest link".

"And the cinematic comeback of the year award goes to... somebody other than Katie Holmes," says the critic from The New York Post, who calls her new heist comedy Mad Money, co-starring Queen Latifah and Diane Keaton, "the most cringe-making return since Love Boat: The Next Wave.

"Holmes, with Alice Cooper hair and crazy Jim Carrey eyes, looks terrible and acts worse, unless this movie is unintentionally a lobotomy documentary," the reviewer says.

"Whatever could have happened to her in the last couple of years to zap the talent out of her like this?"

Meanwhile Katie continued her round of publicity appearances to plug the movie, admitting on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS-FM show that daughter Suri is a big American Idol fan, and gushing about husband Tom Cruise, saying; "I married the biggest movie star in the world."

Katie Holmes’s new diet is apparently the talk of Tinseltown.

Whilst the rest of the world is determined to shift those extra pounds - it seems that the mum-of-one is no different and has adopted a new eating regime which has been dubbed the "KH" diet.

The 29-year-old wife of Tom Cruise, 45, has shed nearly three stone, reports the Daily Star.

A source said: "Katie has had a hectic few months and as well as running around after Suri, she has been juggling work with a strict exercise plan.

"The diet called the ’KH’ diet - for Katie Holmes - consists of a bowl of carrot soup for breakfast, followed by raw broccoli for lunch and dinner.

"Obviously Katie has a small amount of protein with the broccoli such as steamed tofu, or fish, but the green superfood is the key.

"She and Tom are buying organic broccoli by the bucket-load. Katie loves running at the moment and has been jogging a lot of late."

It seems Katie Holmes hasn’t ruled out having another kid to join daughter Suri, but the actress says she doesn’t want any more children with husband Tom Cruise just yet.

"I really want to, but I really want to enjoy Suri and enjoy this time - it’s really special," Katie told Access Hollywood at the Los Angeles premiere of her new movie Mad Money.

"She [Suri] is talking a lot. She’s running around. It’s really magical. We’re having so much fun."

And she was delighted when hubby Tom and 20-month-old Suri visited her on the set of her new movie, in which she stars alongside Queen Latifah and Diane Keaton.

"She was pointing to the monitor saying ’mama.’ Those are moments you dream are going to happen," said Katie, who also discussed her recent experience running the New York marathon, although she wouldn’t confirm rumours that she’s also set to compete in the Boston version of the race.

"I had a great time doing the New York marathon," she said. "It was an amazing experience."
