Worst dressed blow for Moss’s beau - Mar 31 2008
Kate Moss’s boyfriend Jamie Hince has been named one of the worst-dressed people in Britain.

The Kills star fails to make GQ magazine’s best-dressed list, topped by Daniel Craig, despite the fact that his girlfriend is one of the world’s most influential people in fashion.

Instead, he has been named the 15th worst-dressed British man of 2008, one place below aspiring London mayor Boris Johnson.

The list also sees Prince William named one of the worst dressed men in Britain - while his grandfather Prince Philip is deemed one of the best.

Prince William is a new face on the worst-dressed list, at number 16, for just not getting "the hang of age-appropriate".

But his younger brother Prince Harry, his father the Prince of Wales, and even his grandfather, the Duke of Edinburgh, make the best-dressed list.

Prince Harry was deemed tenth best-dressed last year but is 12th this year. GQ says he is "still beating the rest of the royals in the best-dressed stakes."

His father, Prince Charles, is number 25 (from 24 last year).

More embarrassing for Prince William, Prince Philip is a new entry at number 33 in the best-dressed list with Blur star Alex James crediting his "underrated tweedy genius" and calling him a "snappy chappy".

Russell Brand tops the worst-dressed list for the second consecutive year for looking like a "cross between Worzel Gummidge and Lord Byron after a night on acid". New faces in the annual worst-dressed list include chef Gordon Ramsay, singer Mika, Amy Winehouse’s husband Blake Fielder-Civil, England footballer Wayne Rooney, and Stephen Fry.

Kate to marry? - Mar 26 2008

Kate Moss has apparently told a group fans she is getting married to boyfriend Jamie Hince.

The supermodel has joined The Kills guitarist on the band’s tour of Europe and she blurted out their happy news during a romantic trip to Amsterdam, according to The Sun.

A source said: "The pair were in a bar looking very loved-up. Kate was so excited it looked like she had just accepted his proposal there and then. She was very happy.

"She came out giggling and seemed a little bit tipsy. Lots of fans were taking her picture on their mobile phones. She told them, ’I’m getting married.’ One girl asked her when, and she said, ’soon’."

Kate is also said to have talked of marriage plans when she met a fashion journalist in Amersterdam’s Cafe Tabac.

Kate, 34, - who has a five-year-old daughter Lila Grace with ex-boyfriend Jefferson Hack - has been dating Jamie, 39, since last summer. The pair became an item a few months after she split from rocker Pete Doherty, 29.

A friend of Kate’s told The Sun: "We’re all so happy for Kate. Everyone was worried she would end up with Pete, who we thought was no good for her.

"We were convinced that, for some unknown reason, she saw him as the love of her life.

"Jamie looked like it could have been a bit of a rebound thing at first, but now it seems like it’s the real deal."

Biography

In 1988, Kate Moss was discovered by Sarah Doukas, the founder of Storm model agency, at JFK airport at the age of just 14, as she prepared to board a flight home to London with her father.

After a series of shoots for teenage magazines, it was Harper’s Bazaar that finally launched her into the international arena. In 1992, she became the Face of Calvin Klein. Moss originally spearheaded the controversial "waif" look which critics claimed encouraged anorexia in impressionable teenagers. The girl from Croydon, who once said she "might’ve been a bank manager" now divides her time between London and LA, where she is often seen at The Viper Rooms, the controversial club owned by her one-time actor boyfriend Johnny Depp.

She has appeared in several notable documentaries about the fashion world and in 1995, released a hard-back book of pictures entitled simply "Kate". Having checked into London’s £300-a-day Priory Clinic in November 1998 suffering from exhaustion, Kate emerged refreshed the following January to announce that she had spent the last decade modelling "drunk". She told The Face magazine, "That’s what you do. You always have champagne before the shows. Always. Even at ten in the morning. It got to the point one time when we were [saying], ’We’re not going out without any champagne’."

Losing the Calvin Klein contract to fellow Brit Lisa Ratliffe in 1999, Kate has now taken on the status of fashion icon. In the May 2000 issue of Vogue, she played muse to a variety of the most cutting edge artists and photographers. In London she is still represented by Storm. Written in 2000
