With a love life that has catapulted him to the forefront of celeb-dom, you could be forgiven for wondering what it is that Jaime Hince actually ‘does’.

Aside from starting a relationship with Kate Moss in September 2007, Hince also has a steady career as front man of The Kills. The band formed in 2001 when Hince met Alison Mosshart, the other half of the Kills. Describing themselves as ‘chain-smoking vegans’, influences include PJ Harvey, LCD Sound System and Royal Trux, however the music industry prefers to label them as the ‘next White Stripes’.

Inspired by the Velvet Underground’s dedication to their art, Hince and Mosshart claim that the band is a way of approaching creativity in its entirety; with writing, drawing and their general approach to life as important as the music itself.

The year Hince formed the Kills with Mosshart they restarted their clocks, counting 2001 as their new ‘Year Zero’ and renaming themselves, Hotel and VV, respectively. The partners have gone onto release two studio albums, ‘Keep on Your Meanside’ and ‘No Wow’, alongside a number of singles and EPs.
