George Clooney
- Profession: Actor, Director, Producer & Screenwriter
- Place/Date of Birth: Lexington, Kentucky, USA, 06 May 1961
- Associated with: Brad Pitt, Jennifer Lopez
The actor was injured in a motorcycle accident in New Jersey on September 21 and his companion Sarah Larson, who he’s rumoured to be dating, broke a toe.
They had to be treated in hospital, but in an interview with Time.com the A-list actor revealed it hasn’t put him off his passion.
"I’ve been riding for 30 years, and I’ve had three accidents, which isn’t bad odds. I’ll keep riding," he said.
The Ocean’s Thirteen actor goes on to explain: "I ride a motorcycle when I’m home in Los Angeles. It’s my main mode of transportation. "
In the interview the actor also reportedly discusses how having Bell’s Palsy in his teens helped him to become the person he is today.
"Freshman year in high school is a bad time to have half your face paralysed, but it helped me develop more of a personality. You have to make fun of yourself, or else you’re going to have a really rough life," he said.
Michelle and George make marriage bet - Oct 7 2007
Hollywood beauty Michelle Pfeiffer has revealed heartthrob George Clooney has bet her 100,000 dollars (£50,000) he will never get married.
Michelle, who plays a haggard witch in new fantasy film Stardust, told chat show host Jonathan Ross: "He’s just a great guy, great with kids.
"I bet him he would get married and he keeps inflating the bet - from 100 dollars to 100,000 dollars.
"I still think he will, he’s a handsome devil."
Also appearing on BBC One’s Friday Night With Jonathan Ross tonight (Friday) is loud-mouthed radio presenter Chris Moyles.
He admitted he’s so talentless he may end up running a cake shop once his DJ career is over.
The self-styled saviour or BBC Radio 1, who isn’t known for his svelte figure, told Ross: "I am skilled at nothing.
"When this runs out I’m screwed. I’ve no idea what I’ll do.
"I might just chuck it all in and run a cake shop."
The breakfast show host defended his inimitable style.
"A lot of people think I’m a loud-mouthed yob [but] I think on the radio I come across as a nice guy," he said.
"You’ve got to stand out a little bit."
The DJ said showbusiness has been given an unnecessarily hard time recently over competition scandals.
"No one seems to be sticking up for anybody," he said.
"Now everyone thinks every competition is fixed, and it’s not like that."
Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman will also appear on the show.
The programme will be shown at 10.35pm on BBC One.
Injuries can’t keep George off red carpet - Sept 26 2007
George Clooney didn’t let a few injuries put him off walking the red carpet for his latest film premiere.
The Hollywood actor turned up at the New York opening of his new film, Michael Clayton, with model Sarah Larson, who looked glamorous on crutches.
The couple were involved in a motorcycle accident in New Jersey just days ago, and George suffered a broken rib while Sarah broke her toe.
"We feel pretty lucky we got out of there. It was pretty scary," he admitted to Usmagazine.com.
"I was just hoping I wouldn’t hurt anybody and that we weren’t going to get hurt."
But the star, who revealed that he was showing Sarah "a different side to Manhattan", insisted that he wouldn’t be storing away his motorcycle yet.
"I love my motorcycle. It’s a huge part of my life. I ride every day," he added.
His friend Brad Pitt showed up for moral support at the premiere, but without partner Angelina Jolie.

As a child George often spent time on set with his father, even taking part in shows he was involved in. Despite some early promise as an athlete - even trying out for the Cincinnati Reds baseball team in 1977 - and an attempt at further education (never a promising student, he dropped out of both Northern Kentucky University and the University of Cincinnati), George soon followed in the showbiz family footsteps, auditioning for several parts in television series’. He was first noticed thanks to a role on the popular sitcom Roseanne during the 1980s but it wasn’t until 1994 and a part as handsome, moody Doctor Doug Ross in fast paced drama ER (not to be confused with Clooney’s earlier role in comedy E/R), that the actor really hit the big time.
With five years as Dr Doug under his belt Clooney made the leap to movies, starring in From Dusk ’Til Dawn, Three Kings, The Perfect Storm and O Brother, Where Art Thou? to much acclaim. He had also starred alongside Jennifer Lopez in Out of Sight and taken on the role of Batman during his ER years, ensuring he was now Hollywood A-list.
However it was his relationship with Out of Sight Director Stephen Soderburgh that would ensure Clooney made film history. The duo paired up for the first in a blockbusting franchise in 2001 - Ocean’s Eleven, and its successors, would team Clooney with fellow heartthrobs Brad Pitt and Matt Damon and hit the number one spot worldwide. Although the role of Danny Ocean would ensure Clooney’s continuing popularity with the public he was also determined to show he was more than a pretty face and a winning smile. In 2002 he made his directorial debut with Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, although not a huge box office success the film won critical acclaim.
This was just the beginning of Clooney’s critical success. He soon followed Confessions with Good Night and Good Luck, which earned him Academy Award nominations for Best Director and Best Original Screenplay. In the same year he was nominated for, and went on to win, Best Supporting Actor for his role in Syriana.
Clooney has since teamed up with Soderburgh not only on further Oceans movies but on The Good German, released in 2006. Away from the film set he is an active campaigner having been outspoken about not only the Iraq war but the Darfur crisis and global warming. There have even been rumours that he may enter politics, however Clooney himself says ’run for office? No...I’ve slept with too many women, taken too many drugs and I’ve been to too many parties.’
A confirmed bachelor, George was previously married to fellow actor Talia Balsam, from 1989 to 1993 and was linked to British model Lisa Snowdon on and off for some time. However he claims he will never again marry or have children, preferring to spend time with friends including Oceans co-stars Brad Pitt and Julia Roberts and, until recently, his pot bellied pig Max, who died in 2006.
