Celebrity mum Donna Air has lent her support to Prima Baby magazine’s campaign to help new mums feeling under pressure to return to work. A recent survey showed that parents are finding it tough to balance family and finances in the early years. Prima thinks the government should help with an interest-free baby loan. Donna, 26, says: "A baby loan is a great idea, as a lot of mums aren’t in a position to stay at home."

Donna ’naturally skinny’ - April 04
Donna Air is appalled that tabloids suggested she was anorexic whilst pregnant.

The TV star told Glamour magazine that she was shocked that the papers would think she would starve her daughter of nutrients whilst pregnant. Air is fed up with being blasted for being skinny - a size ten despite her 5’8" stature. She says she has not suffered from anorexia and is a naturally skinny person with a healthy diet. Donna told the magazine she wishes she could be curvy and have a bum "like Kylie’s".

Donna to give baby to gorilla - 01/12/03
Donna Air and zoo-owner boyfriend Damian Aspinall want to introduce their baby daughter to Damian’s gorilla’s.

The couple plan to put Freya, who was born in September, in the gorilla enclosure at Howletts Zoo near Canterbury, Kent. Damian has said he did the same for his two elder daughters from his first marriage, Clary and Tansy. Tansy was just 18 months old when she entered the gorillas’ cage. With her father close by, the gorillas hugged her and even let her ride on their backs.

Neither Damian or Donna has any qualms about letting their daughter be with the gorilla’s despite five keepers being killed by animals at Howletts and its sister park, Port Lympne, since 1980. Mr Aspinall told the Evening Standard: "It is a ritual. I’ll probably give her to the dominant female who will take her off and introduce her to the others."

I’m thankful my families ritual just involved cleaning your teeth before bed...

Baby Girl! - 22/09/03
Donna Air has given birth to a baby girl.

She had a 7lb 6 oz daughter at the St John and St Elizabeth hospital in North London, and Donna and her millionaire partner Damian Aspinall are apparently ’over the moon’.

Donna involved in car crash - 17/04/03
Pregnant Geordie Donna Air has been ordered to wear a neck-brace after being involved in a car crash in London...

The TV star, who is four months pregnant, was badly shaken after her chauffeur-driven car was involved in a collision in the West End. She suffered whiplash injuries and will have to wear the brace for a few weeks.

Donna Air confirms pregnancy - 19/02/03
Geordie Donna Air has confirmed she is expecting a baby with millionaire boyfriend Damian Aspinall.

The TV star is 10 weeks pregnant, most mothers-to-be wait until they hit 12 weeks before going public, however the couple decided to confirm the news after speculation about whether she was expecting.

Donna will soon be fronting ITV1’s The Club and has said she would continue to honour all her upcoming commitments. A spokesman for Air said: "The couple are both elated about the pregnancy and the baby is due in September.
