David 'not ready' for films? - Feb 5 2008
Good news Doctor Who fans - David Tennant has apparently admitted that he's not ready for a Hollywood-style movie career just yet.
The 36-year-old actor will be back on screens as the Timelord in the fourth series of the hit BBC One sci-fi show this spring, alongside new sidekick Catherine Tate.
He told the Radio Times he wasn't thinking about a future in films, saying: "My aspirations really don't go beyond the next thing I'm doing. Besides, I don't want to disappoint myself."
He added: "But I would love to have been in a Robert Altman or Hitchcock film. Actually, there's a thought for Doctor Who - but who would you get to play Hitchcock?"
David also revealed his plans for the rest of the year: "We're still working on the new series, but then I've got the whole of May off. I start rehearsals for Hamlet in Stratford-Upon-Avon in June, and I'm doing that from July until January 9 next year.
"On January 10 I'm back in Cardiff to start making the 2009 Doctor Who specials. And after that I really don't know. Nothing has been decided... honestly!"
David’s new girl speaks out? - Jan 22 2008
David Tennant’s new Welsh girlfriend has apparently spilled the beans on the couple’s romance.
It seems Bethan Britton, 28, who works in the BBC contracts department in Cardiff, met the 36-year-old hunk on the set of his sci-fi hit Doctor Who and they have been dating for "a few months".
She is quoted in the Daily Express as saying: "Yes, we are an item. I am seeing David and am extremely happy. He is a great guy and I love being with him. It’s a serious relationship and things are going well."
David split from his previous girlfriend, LA-based actress Sophia Myles, last summer, citing the distance between them as too great.
Meanwhile, it seems BBC bosses are hoping to line up Billie Piper’s new hubby Laurence Fox for a role in the latest series of Doctor Who.
A show insider said: "They are a hot couple now and would make it hot stuff on the screen."
David ’unsettled’ by stalker? - Jan 11 2008
Doctor Who star David Tennant is apparently "unsettled" by the unwanted attentions of one fan.
The actor, 36, is reportedly being bothered by a woman who has moved to Stratford-upon-Avon, where he’s rehearsing for a new production of Hamlet.
The lady is renting a flat directly opposite the Courtyard Theatre, reports the Daily Star.
"Obviously, David gets crowds of fans," a source said. "But he’s never experienced anything as unsettling as this.
"She has been hassling cast members of the production. And she’s told them that she’s left her husband for David.
"She regularly leaves pencil drawings for him of them being friendly in the Tardis.
"And she writes bizarre sci-fi versions of Hamlet, featuring herself as Ophelia and David as a futuristic Hamlet. She insists that both the Doctor and Hamlet are aliens in a hostile universe, who are terrified of being alone.
"But she will save him by being his Rose or Ophelia.
"Sadly, the only thing she and Ophelia have in common is their madness. And David is afraid, very afraid."
I’ve no plans to quit - David - Dec 19 2007
Doctor Who star David Tennant has denied rumours he is planning to quit the show next year.
The star dismissed claims about his departure as "a load of old nonsense."

In the early 90s Tennant moved to London, where he lodged with comic actress Arabella Weir. During this time he worked for the Royal Shakespeare Company, specialising in comic roles and later became a favourite of the BBC, first appearing in Taking Over The Asylum in 1994 and ten years later He Knew He Was Right, Casanova and Blackpool. Meanwhile he began working in films, picked by Stephen Fry to appear in Bright Young Things and playing Barty Crouch Jr in Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire.
Although Tennant’s name had been put forward for the role of the ninth doctor when Doctor Who returned to our screens, Christopher Eccleston was a shoo in for the role. However, when Eccleston, worried about being typecast, quit after just one series the Beeb went back to their original list, confirming that Tennant would be the tenth doctor in April 2005. His first full outing as the doctor was on Christmas Day 2005 and in 2006 he was voted Best Doctor by readers of Doctor Who Magazine. Meanwhile he was also voted one of the most influential British actors by The Stage, Sexiest Man in the Universe by The Pink Paper, Scotland’s Most Stylish Man and came 20th in New Woman’s Top 100 Men.
Although the doctor has taken up much of Tennant’s time recently, he has also found time to appear in several television dramas including The Chatterley Affair and Recovery plus trace his ancestry to Ireland in Who Do You Think You Are?
Tennant is reportedly dating actress Sophia Myles, who he met on set when she played Madame De Pompadour in an episode of Doctor Who.
