Catherine Zeta Jones
- Profession: Actress
- Place/Date of Birth: Treboeth, Llangyfelach, Wales, 25 September 1969
The judge gave the celebrity couple a total of ?14,600 and awarded Hello!’s rival OK! ?1,033,156 for commercial damage to its exclusive coverage of the New York wedding in November 2000.
Lawyers acting for the couple hailed the award as "historic" and said they would be donating their damages to The Family Learning Centre. This is cool as ?14,600 is probably like loose change for Catherine and Million, sorry Michael Douglas!

We like to be together! - 03/11/03
Catherine’s hubby Michael has only agreed to host the annual Nobel Peace Prize if Catherine joins him on stage.
The concert is being held in Norway, and the organisers said the the pair together was their first choice anyway, but they didn’t dare ask for both of them. When they heard of Michael’s request, they didn’t hang about long to give a resounding yes!
The couple will act as co-masters of ceremony at the December 11 concert in Oslo.

Just call me Sue - 26/09/03
Is Catherine Zeta Jones middle name really Sue? As suing does seem to be a bit of a hobby with Mr and Mrs Douglas recently.
She is currently suing French cosmetics firm Caudalie for ?10 million, following an advertising campaign that claimed the actress "was spotted buying the complete Caudalie range of skin care" and had used the company’s anti-ageing spa in Las Vegas.
Catherine says that she has never bought the products, did not receive services from the spa and the company has no right to use her name - which in all fairness is totally correct surely. Also since Catherine has an exclusive contract to promote Elizabeth Arden cosmetics, it is an investment she is bound to want to protect. To the tune of 10 million - naturally!

The Catherine Cricket Challenge! - 15/08/03
The chairman of the cricket club behind Catherine Zeta Jones’ new home has offered a reward to whoever can bat a ball into the garden.
Mark Portsmouth, the chairman of the Mumbles Cricket Club in Swansea has put up a prize of ?100 to the first batman who can pull off such a long shot - and they would only collect the money if they had the guts to ask for their ball back.
Mark said ’One big six could do it. It would have to be a massive hit but it is possible." The batman would have to hit the ball approx 150 yards to get into the garden - but I don’t think Catherine and Michael will be too pleased to hear of this new little game!
Would you ask for your ball back?

She went on to appear in numerous little noticed films and series’, including a made for TV film, Titanic, and comic book movie The Phantom, alongside Billy Zane. It was around this time that she was picked to star with Antonio Banderas in The Mask of Zorro and Sean Connery in Entrapment. These films would make Catherine in to the Hollywood star we know today.
In 2000 she starred in Stephen Soderburgh’s Traffic with her future husband Michael Douglas. When they married later that year there was much critcism of the age difference (Douglas being 25 years her senior), however their marriage continues to go from strength to strength and they now have two children, Dylan (born in 2000) and Cerys (born in 2003).
Between babies and awards ceremonies CZJ has made a real name for herself as a leading lady in films such as The Terminal, Ocean’s Eleven and America’s Sweethearts. She has also won an Oscar for her all-singing, all-dancing part in musical Chicago whilst also working as spokeswoman for Elizabeth Arden.
