"Both sides want to see the day that visitation can resume. It’s a question of working out the details of how that can happen," he said. "Mr Federline looks forward to his children having their mom in their life."
Britney’s parents in court battles - Feb 9 2008
A Superior Court commissioner has given Britney Spears’ father the power to fire the troubled singer’s business manager.
Commissioner Reva Goetz also ordered Howard Grossman to turn over "all documents, records and assets relating to Britney Spears" to James Spears, who has court-appointed conservatorship - power of attorney - over his 26-year-old daughter and her estate.
The order came the day after Ms Goetz held an emergency closed-door hearing on a motion brought by Mr Spears and her lawyer Andrew Wallet, who is part of the conservatorship.
Mr Grossman turned up at the hearing, but he and others were ordered to leave the courtroom.
Mr Grossman would not say if he had been sacked or how long he had worked for Spears.
"My reputation speaks for itself," he said, declining to comment further on the order because it would be speculative.
Meanwhile, lawyers who have represented Spears in her child custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline filed papers to withdraw from that case.
Sorrell Trope filed papers in Los Angeles Superior Court asking to quit the case, said court spokeswoman Mary Hearn.
Spears’ parents have moved aggressively to take control of their daughter’s life since she was taken to a hospital psychiatric ward on January 31.
On the same day Mr Spears won conservator status last week, his wife Lynne successfully applied for a restraining order against Sam Lutfi, their daughter’s frequent companion and sometimes manager.
Court holds secret Britney hearing - Feb 8 2008
The Los Angeles court commissioner who placed Britney Spears under her father’s guardianship has held a closed-door hearing on an emergency motion - a day after the troubled pop star was suddenly released from a psychiatric hospital and was pursued through the city by paparazzi.
The unspecified motion was brought before Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz by the singer’s father, James Spears, and lawyer Andrew Wallet, who is part of the conservatorship, court spokesman Allan Parachini said.
Mr Parachini would say only that the motion was unopposed.
"Everything about this matter is sealed," he said after the hearing.
In court were lawyers for James Spears, along with Mr Wallet and a court-appointed lawyer for Britney, 26.
The singer was taken to a psychiatric hospital at UCLA Medical Centre on January 31 under police escort but was discharged on Wednesday against the advice of her psychiatrist and the wishes of her parents.
"We are deeply concerned about our daughter’s safety and vulnerability and we believe her life is presently at risk," the statement from James and Lynne Spears said.
"We ask only that the court’s orders be enforced so that a tragedy may be averted."
Ms Goetz named Mr Spears last week as conservator of his daughter and named him and Mr Wallet conservators of her estate. The commissioner has ordered the conservatorship to last until at least February 14.
Courts place people under conservatorships when it is determined they can no longer care for themselves or their affairs.

Born in December 1981, Britney Jean Spears shot to fame in a blaze of pigtails and knee high socks in 1998 with her debut single Baby One More Time. Just seventeen years old Britney quickly became the biggest name in pop following up her success with Oops, I Did It Again, Lucky and Stronger as well as two albums, also called Baby One More Time. However, this wasn’t the first time Britney had tasted fame, she had started her career in American Saturday morning TV’s Mickey Mouse Club alongside pop rival Christina Aguliera and boyfriend Justin Timberlake.
During the early years of her career Britney made millions thanks to merchandising deals and successful hits. But she faced controversy throughout with rumours of plastic surgery and feuds with other stars. Her third album, which saw her take a sexier and more adult turn, was a relative disappointment while her critically panned but box office friendly debut movie Crossroads was a fleeting highlight. Meanwhile her long relationship with Justin Timberlake came to an end in 2002 amid claims that her reputation as a virgin was false and in fact that she had cheated on the N*Sync star. Britney responded by sharing a kiss with idol Madonna on stage at the MTV Awards - an act which saw the pair criticized more than admired.
The kiss signaled the end of Britney’s pop-childhood and with the release of In The Zone and the hit single Toxic she began building a new fanbase. A drunken Las Vegas wedding to childhood friend Jason Alexander ended in annulment after just fifty five hours but, rather than concentrate on her career, Britney continued leaning on the lovelife self destruct button. She, despite advice to the contrary, married dancer, aspiring rapper and all round rat-faced bad boy Kevin Federline in a trailer trash wedding in 2004 and within months announced she was pregnant.
She gave birth to their first son, Sean Preston, in 2005, who was quickly followed by their second child, Jayden James, in 2006.
Following exhaustive media speculation with regard to the state of their marriage, Spears and Federline divorced in November 2006. The announcement saw an ongoing legal battle for the custody of their two sons.
