According to the Daily Star, the singer and her family held talks about her finances last week amid concerns that she is apparently down to her last £20 million after splashing out on houses, cars and holidays.

A business associate told the newspaper: "She was very wide-eyed and attentive but she’s as addicted to buying houses and new Mercedes as she is to the attention of the paparazzi.

"There was a moment when her mother said she could be out of money within four years, and her children would still be at primary school.

"That was when she really sat up and took notice."

Court papers reveal that Britney is worth £20 million, the newspaper reports.

She apparently pays her former husband Kevin Federline £10,000 a month plus £7,500 for their two children.

Britney Spears’ on-off lover Adnan Ghalib has apparently claimed she is pregnant with his child.

The Birmingham photographer - who last month was pictured looking at pregnancy tests in a shop with the 26-year-old singer - has bragged to his friends she has "a baby Brummie in her tummy", according to The Daily Star.

A source told the newspaper: "Adnan’s boasting that he’s going to be a dad - and that Britney wants a baby girl who is just like her.

"Britney is his dream come true. He knows that if he has a child with her, he’ll be made for life.

"She’s been telling people how much she loves Adnan and crowing about having a baby with him."

The Toxic singer recently sparked rumours she was expecting when she was pictured with what looked like a baby bump. But her parents, who have been looking after her since she was sectioned under the mental health act, apparently claim she has put on weight after dad Jamie, 55, banned her from taking drugs other than those prescribed by the doctor.

Britney - who lost custody of her sons Sean Preston, two, and 17-month-old Jayden James after failing to take a court-ordered drugs test - has been allowed to see her children twice in the last week.

But another source claimed: "She is longing for a daughter. It’s always been her dream to have a little ’Mini-me’ as she likes to say."

Britney Spears has been reunited briefly with her sons, nearly two months after the troubled pop star last saw them.

Elliot Mintz, a spokesman for Britney’s ex-husband Kevin Federline, said she spent about three hours with one-year-old Jayden and two-year-old Sean.

Mr Mintz would not say where the reunion took place or who else was there.

Britney had not been allowed to see the boys since January 3, when she refused to return the children after a visitation. Police were called to her home in a scene that ended with Spears in a hospital psychiatric ward.

Mr Federline’s lawyer said on Friday that the singer’s ex had agreed to give her visitation rights.

People magazine reported that Britney’s psychiatrist was present during the visit to see her sons.

The visit came a day after Mr Federline’s lawyer Mark Kaplan announced that the couple "agreed to a modification of the court’s order" that had stripped Britney, 26, of her visitation rights.

Britney’s parents went to Los Angeles around the time of her second admission to hospital, four weeks after the first incident, and have pushed to restore visitation rights to help their daughter recover.

A Los Angeles court commissioner gave Kevin sole physical and legal custody of the boys and suspended Spears’ visitation rights on January 4.
