The lawyer for Kevin Federline says he wants to make troubled singer Britney Spears give sworn evidence soon in the latest step in the pair’s continuing child-custody battle.

"Britney Spears will have her deposition early (next) year," Mark Kaplan said outside a Beverly Hills restaurant.

"We’ve got a lot to talk about."

Britney, 26, called in sick to a court-ordered deposition on December 12, although she was photographed that day driving with a friend.

"She was, in fact, out later that day and night," Mr Kaplan said. "It’s not fourth grade where you get a doctor’s note and it’s all OK."

Britney and Kevin have been wrangling for months over custody of their sons, two-year-old Sean Preston and one-year-old Jayden James.

Kevin, 29, has temporary custody of the children because Britney, who has limited visitation rights, has defied court orders.

The couple were married in October 2004 and finalised their divorce in July.

It seems Britney Spears didn’t manage a quiet Christmas.

According to MSNBC, the singer started her own festivities early with a bizarre trip around the greater LA area, which included swearing fits, hours of aimless driving, and flirting with the paparazzi.

Its website reveals all about the singer’s erratic behaviour over the holidays. On the Sunday before, she was apparently went out dressed in the dirty clothes she spotted wearing on Saturday. Britney then apparently did a tour of three petrol stations in the space of an hour to use their restrooms.

At one stop-off the singer was apparently overheard swearing at a friend on her mobile phone, she then reportedly continued to drive aimlessly around Los Angeles.

Later on it’s claimed Britney checked into a hotel after flirting with a photographer who she called "cute".

She then reportedly checked out again before returning home to wait for a visit from her sons.

The 16-year-old sister of US pop star Britney Spears is reportedly expecting a baby.

Jamie Lynn Spears, star of cable TV comedy series Zoey 101, told OK! magazine that she is pregnant and that the father is her long-term boyfriend, Casey Aldridge.

"It was a shock for both of us, so unexpected," she apparently said. "I was in complete and total shock and so was he."

Jamie Lynn told the magazine she is 12 weeks pregnant and initially kept the news to herself when she discovered she was expecting from an at-home test and subsequent doctor visit.

Of premarital sex, Jamie Lynn reportedly said: "I definitely don’t think it’s something you should do; it’s better to wait.

"But I can’t be judgmental because it’s a position I put myself in."

After she found out from a doctor that she was pregnant, she reportedly said: "I took two weeks to myself where I didn’t tell anybody.

"Only one of my friends knew because I needed to work out what I would do for myself before I let anyone’s opinion affect my decision."

Jamie Lynn broke the news to her mother, Lynne, just before the Thanksgiving holiday on November 22, the magazine says.

"She was very upset because it wasn’t what she expected at all," Spears apparently added. "A week after, she had time to cope with it and became very supportive."

Lynne Spears apparently said: "I didn’t believe it because Jamie Lynn’s always been so conscientious."
